So, for Valentine’s day dinner, I took my wife to the Barrel excited for a great dinner. We show up a few minutes before our reservation time and are promptly seated.
Then we wait 15 minutes for a server, despite servers walking all around us, no one stopped to ask if we’d been helped. We finally walked back to the hostess and asked if we had a server for our table. Shortly after, our server, James arrives.
We are then provided with water and he takes our drink and appetizer order. The deviled eggs are delicious; try them. We place our order; ribeye and chicken fried steak. He comes back a few minutes later, no ribeyes; so I change to a New York strip, none left. Change to the sirloin, none left. Finally I order the only steak left, the filet. James apologizes profusely and says he’ll comp the appetizer and drinks, and will send the manager over.
We watch the manager, Blake, talk to a table next to ours for 10 minutes as James asks him to stop by.
Blake doesn’t stop by, instead he leaves for the night.
We finally did get our food and it truly was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed the taste. James did his best, despite the lack of support.
One other minor thing, the restaurant was giving out roses to all the ladies, apparently except for mine.
I would have rated service at 1 star instead of 2 due to management conduct, but James did his best to help us out.

Elk crostini was good but the bacon wrapped quail was delish and broccolini was ok but the cauliflower was c’est magnifique – the flight of creme brulee made our Anniversary dinner complete – definitely enjoyed !!

What a great find! Tonight was our first visit and certainly will not be our last. I had an amazing Ribeye that was cooked perfectly, and my wife had an incredible Scallop dinner. Setting is great, service was perfect, and even the dessert was great. I think we may have found our new favorite restaurant.

Date night here was wonderful. We had excellent service both at the car and at our table, and the food was fantastic! We enjoyed the chicken fried steak, several appetizers including the beef and bread, and the amazing cocktails.

My wife and I found this restaurant to be excellent in every way. Great service, Creative drinks as well as an extensive whiskey list. Fun and tasty appetizers. Fresh, tasty, well-seasoned, well-presented food. So, my review will merely mention the food and drink highlights, knowing that service was top notch all the way. We tried two of their signature drinks – Resting Peach Face and Show Me Yours. Loved them both for being creative yet not forced weird. All of the food was also excellent. Barrel Meatballs were well prepared, nicely seasoned and not swimming in sauce like so many places. The crab cake was real crab and nice breading but no oil taste or fishiness at all. Served on a sauce with an additional sauce on the side. One of the best crab cakes we have ever had. Goat Cheese Salad was crisp, nicely dressed and generous on the goat cheese. Texas Goat Cheese Grits were firm and not runny grits with the cheese mixed nicely throughout so every taste was full of flavor. For desert we split the vanilla bean crème brulee, which was caramelized on top to perfection and bursting with vanilla flavor. This restaurant has all the makings of becoming a special occasion place, as well as a night out when we just want great food. Tip: take advantage of the happy hour drink specials.

The Barrel hamburger is fantastic. The roll the burger is on makes it memorable. French fries not so much. The steak fries were sooo much better. Please go back to those.
Your salads doesn’t need the croutons. Please come into the 21st century with the crouton crumbles on your salads. I know it takes a while to bring Calif or NY to Dallas area, but be the first and it makes all the difference. I don’t even want to eat a salad with regular croutons.

Nicely decorated and welcoming. Really good menu -food & wine. We were excited to see Judge Palmer cab on the wine list! The dip trio with foie gras mousse is cravable as we’re the pork belly entree and the filets with ancho butter. Both the Caesar and wedge salads are perfect. On the minus side is that they are still working out service. One of 4 entrees arrived 10 minutes ahead of the other 3 and the birthday person’s desert was so late everyone else had finished and we sent it back. Also, a very large group seated right in the middle of the restaurant were loud. I think this restaurant is going to be a hit and can’t wait to see how they evolve.

My friends and I went to The Barrel for the first time on Sunday at 6:30pm. I ordered a crab cake and Caesar salad. I could not find the lump crab meat in my crab cake. It was all mush. The Caesar salad was good. My friend’s goat cheese salad said “butter greens” on the menu, but it came with “field greens”. They need to fix the menu wording. Very disappointed in the price paid for what I received. Will NOT be dining there again. The staff was not very knowledgeable. Also, the music was so loud as if I was in a bar. Not impressed. The dining room had a LOT of empty tables.

Went to the barrel for our anniversary dinner and absolutely enjoyed it! The staff was great and accommodating, our waitress Brooklyn went above and beyond for us and had great recommendations. The New York strip was delicious and the chocolate lava cake was so good! We highly recommend the barrel!

We loved brunch last weekend. It was our first time there and it was a great experience. The restaurant is beautiful, the staff did a great job. My only complaint was the hostess couldn’t find our reservation, it was our mistake, instead of just seating us and saying we have tables available, we had to ask twice if they would be able to seat us. I had the Texas scramble and my husband had the crab roll. Both were very good. I had a mimosa and he had the resting peach face, both great. We like it so much we are taking family from out of town this weekend. Definitely added to my favorites list.
