The Barn Original has proudly been in business for over 90 years. Our burgers and baby back ribs served in a speakeasy atmosphere with rustic décor have made us well known. We have the best ribs in NJ that are prepared fresh with love daily and fall off the bone with ease. Our Barn Burger isn’t something to take lightly either, made with fresh beef and toppings while being declared Best in New Jersey by NJ Magazine! Our casual family eatery is located in an old fruit barn. There is no sign out front, look for the lights wrapped around a tree across from the Sicomac elementary school.
Set in a 1779 dairy barn, this stalwart, rustic outpost provides cocktails, brews & American eats.

First time here and the food and the service was excellent! They were so packed they had no seats and when I told the owner we were coming here for the first time after we saw an Instagram review, he ran out to the car to stop us and make a space for us so that we could try the food and try out the place. People like that go a long way in today’s society to gain a loyal customer. Means a lot to make a place for us to eat dinner. Five stars! We will be back!!

My boyfriend and I sat at the bar. We had two of the best bartenders. They were attentive and friendly. They did forget our fried pickles, but we made the best of it and let them know it’s ok! Our meals and drinks were sufficient. Food was delicious! Would definitely go here again!

This is absolutely by for our most favorite restaurant/Tavern in the northern New Jersey Bergen County area! We’ve been going here for years. It’s been open for eons very friendly staff excellent prices the food quality is outstanding.!
Our favorite is the original barn steak, which is really filet mignon! Their salads are amazing and the size of them! Normally have to take it home. It’s so big sometimes.. delicious burgers my father used to take me here when I was young. You have to know where it is as the sign is not incredibly large. In fact, it’s a mailbox with some lights around it! And it does look like a barn however it’s very warm and insulated unlike a barn! Wait until you see the atmosphere!! be ready for a good old time! Real locals know about this place and keep coming back.

Not locals ..was at ramapo high vs morris knolls baseball game ..my daughter lives close . Big win for knolls !! This place has such a great American gastropub / sports bar vibe. I loved all the carved initials and names all over the walls! The menu is simple. Everything you would want in an American gastropub, you can find here. The cocktails were 50/50. Some were great, most were pretty average. I would not recommend getting a speciality cocktail. The clam chowder was also a split decision. One person enjoyed it, the other passed and ordered the French onion soup, which was better. The ribs were soft, and saucy. They were one of the best things we ordered. Pass on the fish and chips, they are a greasy mess. The garlic mashed potatoes, forgot the garlic. Also, a pass. Both burgers were great, I would highly recommend them as a choice. Personally, I ordered the rib eye salad. It was very good and a generous portion. It has so much steak! The desserts were not worth it. Pass on those. Overall, I love the vibe. If I were to return, it would be to have a standard cocktail at the bar and a burger, nothing more.

Overall, the place was cute outdoor seating was lovely and food was good! The service and parking however were questionable. Parking is weird and limited. When we got there it wasn’t super busy, however it took an hour for my friend to get her salad and the table of regulars got their French onion soup before I got mine even though we were sat 15 minutes before them and I ordered before they did. The server was very nice but I think they could use some more staff. I will probably not return due to the fact that I do have a seafood allergy and they cook a lot of stuff that I would want to eat in the same oil which definitely gives me anxiety.

Have been a patron of The Barn for decades. The rustic, cozy atmosphere and awesome food have drawn me back time and time again! Even with a line at the door, the crew work quickly and efficiently to get you seated as quickly as possible.
When I think of their burgers, my mouth begins to water! All of their food is prepared well, and arrives quickly at your table. There’s plenty to choose from on their menu, for adults and kids alike. They have a great selection beer, and non alcoholic beverages, and will prepare your mixed drink (if that’s your thing) to perfection.
The Barn is family friendly so feel free to bring the kids. Parking can get a bit tricky in the tight lot, but, it always works out fine in the end (you may need to que-up for a spot). Watch carefully for the entrance driveway, which is also a bit tricky to find when it’s dark. Over the MANY DECADES The Barn has been in operation, hundreds have carved their names into the tables (mine included)… just another point to love about this amazing place.
