The food it pretty good if you’re on the UCR meal plan otherwise it’s not amazing for the price without it. It’s a nice place to hang out the service isn’t the fastest. The chicken sandwiches are a lot better than the burgers in my opinion along with the fries over their onion rings (usually a bit too greasy and the breading isn’t crisp). They’ve been introducing more options slowly as they begin to get more staff including a deli sandwich station, salad station, and hot plate station. Their brisket is good you can get it on a salad if you ask for it. Salads aren’t amazing go for the barn salad. The Italian sandwich is really good I’ve gotten it twice so far. A solid 8/10 if you’re on the meal plan, otherwise a 7/10

The go-to place for a lot of highlanders. The burgers are reasonably good, and so are the beers. The UCR used to accept meal swipes and the Barn used to be packed every day, until the administration decided to axe the idea. Hopefully they’ll accept the meal swipes again.

I ordered Soy Strips for $10 and got 6 hard tasteless soy “strips” that smelled like dog treats. Even the server was surprised/judgmental I ordered these and now I see why. Don’t waste your money here.

I’ve enjoyed the patio ambiance and vegetarian options at The Barn. I love the history, and love that the main building will be preserved with the remodel!
As this remodel has them closed until 2020, of course I ate there June 2018, a day before they closed! I tried the BLT with avocado, substitute soy chicken for the B, with a side salad

The food was good and the drinks were good and strong! It wouldve been a 5, but the lady with blonde hair had a bad attitude, single-handedly made The Barn feel unwelcoming. The champagne flights were good! But theyre missing the aesthetic of the rest of the place with the styrofoam cups ??

Such a lack of character, personality, and quality; it has the liveliness of a tomb and the food tastes worse than a cafeteria. Meanwhile, The Getaway Cafe is so much more personal, inviting, and has such great food! Sean does a fantastic job at The Getaway and I will never dine at the barn again. UC: treat your tenants with respect and the value they deserve. You can’t price out the best place on campus and expect the barn to thrive as a result. Shame on you, UC.

One of the better places on campus to eat in a nice environment. The food menu is not extensive but it is good. The place looks very nice inside and although it gets loud during peak times it is still pleasant. Outdoor sitting is much quieter. A few sockets are available here and there if you need to charge while eating.

Went to the stable for the “Grand Opening” during the distractions time as advertised and it was horrid. It was completely dead when we went no host to seat anyone and it took 7-8 min before someone greeted us and told us we can be seated. The waiting staff was all just standing around looking lifeless and you could say the service provided was lifeless as well. On a slow regular Tuesday that behavior could be validated but for a “Grand Opening” that’s unacceptable. The drinks had barely any alcohol (overpriced for what you are getting) and the food looked and tasted like they bought it at Ralphs Frozen and threw it in the oven or microwave. The only time the wait staff was quick to be of our assistance was to pick up the check. After our bad experience we were unsatisfied so we went over to The Barn where in my opinion is where you should spend your money if you are going to this establishment. The brisket plate was amazing and the service provided was friendly and welcoming. It was surprising to see the type of service and product being served at the barn was by far 10000000x better than the stable. Great atmosphere with a lot of potential just wish the product and service were better at the stable. The barn keep doing your thing!
