The Amsden features a locally owned coffee shop, mercantile, and play cafe inside one of the oldest buildings in the heart of downtown Versailles. The building was meticulously renovated in 2017 and also houses a bourbon bar, skin boutique, + yoga studio. Our coffee shop serves a variety of coffee and espresso drinks as well as locally made desserts + baked goods. Gathered Play + Create is attached to the coffee shop which is a charming play cafe with rotating imagination spaces, kid’s art studio, and library.

A small quaint coffee shop on main Street in Versailles fits in perfectly with the wonderful small town atmosphere. The staff has been very friendly and helpful every time I’ve been there. Almost always a parking spot on Main Street or the adjacent small parking lot. I’m not telling you to jaywalk on Main street, just saying. Limited seating but I have never seen it crowded either, most customers are probably taking their orders out to the courthouse or another local workplace.

We stopped by at 11:15 am on Monday, 11/4/24. No wait, quick service.
I got a Dirty Chai Latte, which wasn’t the best I’ve had. We also got a Blueberry Muffin, which was good, and Banana Nut Muffin, which we didn’t like as much. The Bacon Cheddar Scone was good.
Very cute on the inside and outside. Good vibes. Wish I had liked my coffee more!

Such a cute coffee shop, but the coffee is NOT good…. I’ve had it a few times and last time I just had to throw it away. My latte was basically flavored milk. So weak, tasteless and the iced coffee was barely cold..

This is such a gorgeous spot in downtown Versailles with consistently good (though not bold) coffee and tea concoctions at a fair price. Today I stopped in and got a seasonal drink, the honey lavender, and it did not disappoint! They seem to use quality ingredients for their drinks. I have always enjoyed perusing the merchandise, which there is less of now.
It might sound odd to say, but it’s one of my favorite floors, certainly my favorite in town, I just love the tiles. Parking and time of day can impact your visit if you are in a time crunch. The baristas are often so kind! The bakery items are OK, I usually pass for the price but to each their own.
I miss the shop here, it’s turned into more of a childcare spot. It used to be a place I would intentionally try and support a few evenings a month with coffee and shop, but it doesn’t feel geared to me now.

The Amsden is the perfect addition to downtown Versailles. If you try to avoid the big chain coffee spots, go to the Amsden! Great coffee and impeccable vibes. I ordered a SF vanilla latte with oat milk half sweet and it was PERFECT. They definitely make their coffees fairly sweet which was a mistake I made here in the past, so if you don’t like very sweet coffee make sure to order it half sweet.
The vibes here are unbelievable. So cute and quaint. There’s not a lot of seating which is the only downside. Definitely a grab and go kinda place vs a sit down and work.

Cute little downtown shop in an old building. The adjoining boutique has an assortment of souvenir and unique gifts. Only giving this spot a 4 because there isn’t really much of a dining area for me to sit and work. But if you are in the downtown area wanting a shot of caffeine, this would be a great place to drop in at!
