the perfect place if you are after good food and outstanding service. i stayed in Copenhagen for 5 days and ate here for 4 after my second day finding the place, the best steak around the area and the staff is super nice and attentive, especially Daniela was my waiter for 3 out of the 4 days and i could have been happier with the service, food, quality and speed, even Saturday evening they were practically fully booked due to some event nearby and they still managed to accommodate a space for one – thank you @ The American crew – absolutely amazing

This restaurant is based in a shopping centre and has seating inside and outside (in the general shopping centre area). We ate here twice and it had reasonable prices. The menu was nothing special but if you are after typical pasta and pizza dishes then it’s ideal. The salmon salad was a good size and adequate as a main meal. Burger / sandwich was dry, flavourless, and basically cold. 1/5
The fries were fine, but you don’t get points for refrying frozen fries.
Service was okay. We had to seat ourselves even though you get the idea that they seat you. We had to get up and go get a waiter to get to pay.
Ambience was odd. Why play Danish pop at an American diner?
Not going here again.

Visited The American after some shopping. Ordered a salmon sandwich and chicken burger — both amazing! Friendly staff, portions just right. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area!

Super friendly service. Good selection of typical American food. Burger was good, fries were great. Lasagne was overcooked and I would not recommend that! Therefore lower rating overall. Lasagne is not a fast food and shouldn’t offer if can’t prepare properly.

The Manhattan Burger was a major disappointment. The veal patty was too small, too cold, and tasted old. It was clearly pre-made and sitting, as it was served immediately after ordering. I went for a freshly made food, not a cold experience! To mask the poor quality of the meat, it was absolutely drowned in coleslaw and sauce, making the whole meal a soggy, one-note experience. At its core, it was just a bun with coleslaw and sauce, not the premium burger promised. Save your money and time.

We tried different plates. To sum up the quality of the food doesn’t match the price we had to pay for it. Especially the chicken and 2/3 the sauces were not good.
