The Ale House is a hidden gem in Columbia, Maryland. If you are looking for a happy hour spot for a group or just want to watch sports with a friend, this restaurant is a fantastic spot. Welcoming atmosphere and great service, and the food is very tasty. The chicken tenders were great, I like the regular fries as opposed to the potato wedges that came with the fish and chips. The fried haddock was absolutely delicious. However, they need to work on the coleslaw. It was almost like a side salad. The chocolate brownie sundae was a great hit for two people. Make sure to request the hot fudge, caramel, and whip cream toppings. I couldn’t even think about finishing it by myself. Would highly recommend. Will be going back to try other entrée and desserts.

Food and service were great! I got the scramble bowl , fried green tomatoes and french toast bites. We also got the bottomless mimosas. This place is popular so parking on weekends can be challenging.

We haven’t been here in a few years and we went last night, around 6pm and now I remember why.

The food is just not very good. The French dip was just okay, it had well done, reheated, maybe in the microwave, roast beef on it, just had that reheated taste.

Steak salad was a huge bowl of lettuce and steak that was well done, even though we asked for medium rare.

Burger came out well done, even though we asked for medium. We did send this back and the replacement was cooked a little better, but still closer to medium well.

Service was spotty, granted we were in the bar at a high top table, but our waitress only stopped by once maybe twice to check in. We always had to flag her down to get anything.

The food and beer are great, lots of variety and flavors. The service was subpar, don’t expect the best from the servers on staff. My server along with 2 others, were more occupied with eating and laughing with each other than earning a tip. While we were waiting for drinks and food (sitting on the warming racks) we could see the staff hanging out in the kitchen.

Great atmosphere and the food was delicious! My coworkers and I went for brunch and it was a great experience. Our server, Elijah was very personable and answered any questions we had. He is provided quick service and checked on us often. I would definitely recommend

Had lunch at the Ale House on a Friday around 12:15 with the wife and a friend. No wait for a table. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. Restaurant was moderately busy with plenty of open tables. Noise level was very good for having conversation without screaming.

We ordered the Friday special app which was a flat bread bruschetta (see pic) with crab topping, a pear salad and chicken strips with fries (see pic). Also one soda and an iced tea. Finished with a seasonal peach cobbler shared 3 ways. Total bill with tip for the 3 of us came out to $90. So if looking for a more moderate cost lunch, better to look elsewhere.

The food was all very good and would recommend this place for a lunch date where you can get good food, not feel packed in, and can converse without shouting.

Food was great, I ordered online hostess named ally was very attentive and helpful, girl who brought out my food, (I believe that the hostess said her name was danielle.) Was very nice. The restaurant looked very clean and food came out quickly and was still hot! Will definitely come back again.

I stopped by this place by chance because the place I wanted to go, Texas Roadhouse, had over an hour long wait. this place was close by with no wait, so I ended up going here instead. The food was pretty good, but it was priced too high, in my opinion. Ambiance wise, they have a great sports bar setting with huge screens and a large bar area. Service was also good. I’d say this is a high-end bar with good food. Just be prepared to pay higher for that high-end experience.

Surprisingly good food. I was there a a part of a large group, catered, the beef was tender and flavorful. The potatoes were tasty, salmon cooked perfectly. Service was great. I was impressed.

I’ve eaten at The Ale House several times. Our most recent trip on Valentine’s day was good. Our server Brian did an excellent job despite the busy dinner service. The timing from the kitchen was a bit off with our dessert arriving 2 minutes after the main course. Our brie appetizer did not come with any kind of bread to spread it on which was odd.
