The pastries are wonderful as are their quiches
I opted for their one protein and two sides and chose the shrimp skewers with a side of wilde rice and mushrooms all were very good. I didn’t like the taste of the iced tea and it was replaced with no charge. The outdoor scenery is picking through the big glass windows the atmosphere is informal and warm.
I was hungry and thirsty, so I figured let me give it a shot.
What a pleasant, refreshing surprise!
Inside, the Counterservice was above courteous cheery and informative. The Menu was sound, fresh and elegant.
The BLT was not your everyday BLT….Thick slabs of bacon, with a vine ripened beefsteak tomato on a beautifully crusted bread.
But it wasn’t just the lunch, that was just very good……The BAKERY section blew me away!
The Olive Oil Citrus Cake and Fresh Sourdough Bread were SO GOOD that I ended up buying not just a slice of each, but the entire Cake, as well a loaf of their wonderful Sourdough Bread.
I have been in the Food Industry for 35 years and have never tasted a Sourdough Bread or Olive Oil Citrus like that since I traveled and toured Europe extensively. Wow!
Many bakeries sell Sourdough Bread, they more than not, use yeast to speed up the process at a lower cost; But this bread was different, it was not americanized with yeast. This had a classic European flavor and touch. I can tell there was no yeast in this bread, but rather …it was fermented…It is a staple in Europe and takes much longer to make….but it is worth it! If you never had a Sourdough Bread that was fermented, it’s time to try this and realize what you have been missing and realize also how healthy it is for you and family. You will also realize what you have been eating. I’m pretty sure you will never have the yeast driven bread again.
This was special and worth the trip to this wonderful, local gem.
Bravo 9W Market.
Plenty of outdoor seating and you’re surrounded with a beautiful green forest.
I hear that on the weekend this place is packed with Cyclists and Motorcycles and I can see why… but in the mid week it wasn’t an issue at all
