The 6740 was born in 1997 as a collaboration of three Whittier friends, Mike, Dave and Audi. On a wing and a prayer, we built a restaurant & bar that’s been dubbed a neighborhood institution– a moniker we humbly accept with gratitude and love for our awesome community who sticks with us through thick and thin. When we lost Dave in 2015, we lost a part of our soul but know he lives in the heart of The 6740 forever. So drop by anytime for the food, the drink, the art, the music, the love. You’ll find us tapping the finest craft beers, serving delicious homemade food, laughing and loving life.

Okay, the review. Best vibes, best staff, great beer selection and ALL the food was delicious! Vegan or not, you can’t go wrong. The vegan menudo is something I will dream about. The wings and all the sauces were great! The salad and honey mustard dressing. Yum!! Definitely visit, you won’t be disappointed!!

I have been going to 6740 for years. They have beer and wine. They have TV’s for sporting events. The food was delicious. I especially enjoyed their wings, but recently we had a less enjoyable food experience. The wings were served cold and the grilled cheese burger was very plain. Prior to that, this was one of my favorite places for wings. I hope it improves if we come back. Maybe it was just a busy night. I don’t know.

One of my favorite go to local spots. Prior to the pandemic i went there enough that the waitress knew my order by heart, she is so sweet too.
I just went the other day and she still remembers me even though its been a year but i did order something different this time.

The 6749 (or as locals call it the 40) is one of the older more established beer bars (they also serve food) in Uptown Whittier. The scene here can be anywhere from college kids to older patrons enjoying a nice selection of taps and bottled beers. The atmosphere is very chill and inviting. The music is well varied, they have several TVs for your viewing pleasure. Not overly priced. At times it can get pretty packed and loud here so just be prepared, then other times it can be really mellow. If your in the area and find yourself needing a brew to quench that hop thirst definitely stop by!

Loved the food, the ambiance, and the service here. Simple food cooked well and unexpectedly delicious. There is healthy options such as the teriyaki bowl I ordered. Thank you to Natalia (Ti) for being friendly and suggesting the teriyaki bowl. She was definitely one of the best servers we’ve had. We will soon be coming back to try the burgers next. Also, their kombucha beer is delicious.

Great place, owner Mike is hands-on and will explain the beer selection (which he tries and chooses himself) and unique menu. Everytime I travel to CA I stop by. Burgers are great, beers are mostly local with some intriguing European beers tossed in. All the produce is freshly and locally sourced. Very unique retro interior and vibe. Check it out, one of a kind.

My hubs comes here after work for a beer + bite during the weekday. It’s a low key, local peeps, local vibe dive and he always leaves happy The service is attentive and prompt w no attitude. It’s family owned so maybe that’s why. Good, honest, hard working customers just grabbing a brew after work and families grabbing a bite at night I was a lil fancy on a recent Sat night + also fit in. They welcome all vibes
