Great dinner with friends! Had short rib special; it was wonderful!! Others ordered different items but especially loved the lobster bisque. The service was great and the chef came out to ask about our meals.
Atmosphere was warm, comfortable and inviting. Old schoolhouse charm with modern finishes and updates.
Prices were good for a quality meal. Definitely would return when in the area!!

Drove an hour to eat here. 1000% recommend! Staff was very friendly. Food was amazing. Atmosphere was one a kind. We had the crab dip appetizer, tomahawk steak, pork chop, mashed taters, mac n cheese, and 7 layer chocolate cake. Food was melt in your mouth good! PS. Reservations highly recommended!!!!

We live in Louisville and love driving up to New Washington to enjoy great food, drinks, service and atmosphere at The 1894 Lodge. Everything we’ve had there from Big Mac Egg Rolls, to the fresh house salad with house made dressing, to the 14 oz ribeye, to the bourbon bread pudding has been excellent. My favorite thing is go there on Wednesday for $1 wings! I highly recommend this wonderful establishment!

We really enjoyed our meal at 1894. One of use had thw salmon and Brussel sprouts and they loved it. One had the sirloin steak and they said you couldn’t tell the difference in it and an filet it was that good. One had the chicken and macaroni& cheese they enjoyed it. I had the ribeye and loaded fries and the fried stole the show, they were delicious! The ribeye was ok but lacked flavor. I wish I had gotten the sirloin. It was a great atmosphere and really cool place.

Excellent food and service with hard-working staff. The hostess Amber was excellent and offered her help with cleaning and removing dishes from the table. Our waitress Carrie was also excellent and provided her opinion when we asked.
We will definitely be back to see what other specials you may have. Hat off to the chef!!!
The best food we’ve had in a year since Siesta Keys.
Well done!!! We also enjoyed our conversation with Grandpa.
It’s worth the hour drive!!!!!

Every time we have been here, the food is over the top excellent! The service is also personal and makes you feel like a neighbor and treasured guest. We have referred many here, even from out of the country! As I’m writing this, I’m realizing we need to go back…so maybe that’s tonight! This is a true gem that everyone needs to visit. The chef is well trained, the servers are great, the atmosphere is unique and special, the cocktails are superb. They are doing it right!!

First time dining here, but won’t be the last! We made a reservation and mentioned it was for our anniversary. There was a card on our table when we sat down, very nice touch. Service was great, all the food and drinks were top notch. My meal of Chicken Marsala was amazing, some places make the sauce too sweet, but this was perfect and delicious. Also tried the goat cheese fritters, truffle fries, bread pudding and an Indiana sunset drink, all was fantastic. Other entrees sampled by our party was the NY strip, meatloaf and fish & chips everyone gave the food It was worth the drive and the atmosphere was very cool in an old school house!

Amazing food and staff! Worth the pretty drive, especially for a special date night. We went for our anniversary and they went above and beyond. My husband talked for a week straight about his Cajun pasta! Goat cheese fritters, cocktail, hot brown, Cajun pasta, and cheesecake were all too-notch! We can’t wait to go back

Very very good restaurant. It’s a 3 floor building but the third floor is currently under construction. There are a bunch of cool pictures and objects dating way back to the late 1800’s and early 1900’s that add to the overall ambiance. The restaurant has a cool, modern aestethic going for it, too. The first floor is the restaurant and the second is a bar which had live music when we were there.

The food was very good. The crab dip was the best the four of us have ever had so I whole-heartedly recommend it. The food was plated well and the portions were generous, too. The fish and chips was delightful with a perfectly fried crust and a wonderful buttery flavor.

The food came within a reasonable amount of time and it was all hot and delicious. We would also like to recommend our waitress, Kaycee. She was attentive, quick on her feet, and a joy to interact with. She joked with us and had a great smile and disposition which we all were grateful for.

We loved this restaurant and will be back!
