Real food, made for you. We’re suckers for the feelings of nostalgia synonymous with classic American food. That’s why every That Burger Joint (TBJ) is located under the same roof as an Oberweis Ice Cream & Dairy Store. A trip to TBJ is satisfying, yet simple– and not to mention delicious. We chop fresh produce, slice Idaho potatoes, hand batter all natural chicken breasts, grill all natural 100% Angus beef, whisk signature dipping sauces and blend house made seasonings. Every. Single. Day. Oberweis makes the best milkshakes in the world, and now, the best burgers too.

Counter-serve spot offering burgers, chicken sandwiches & hot dogs, plus hand-cut fries.

Person taking order was rude I don’t know why. And when the chicken sandwich. Only chicken sandwich was $8.79 and look how small the chicken was. This is definitely not worth the money no drink or fries.

Updated: changing my stats hoping this was not the norm. general manager reached out immediately and explained what happened today and this is not going to happen again and was apologetic and refunded my money and he wants me to try it again and said that it will be better. As a small business owner, I appreciate the immediate response and wanting to fix it. Things happen and I’m happy to say that I will be trying this place again.
Original post : Got mushroom and Swiss burger and truffle fries
This was The worst experience I have had so far
They were not busy yet took forever for the food and it literally looked like they took pieces of meat and threw it together and put it on the grill and the Swiss cheese was non existent and it was dry
I struggled to find a fry that was good.
I went back to get an ice cream, and even though they were not busy, no acknowledgement that I was at the counter
Not worth the money, or experience

THAT WAS GOOD!!!
Im from the Illinois side( yeah, I know lol)
My wife and myself were looking around town for a place to eat lunch at. Came across this place and I said, w a name like that , almost got to try it.
We both had burgers, she had single , I had bacon and cheddar double w fries.
Employee s were courteous, and nice. The place was clean.Wait time was about normal.
The burger s were cooked perfectly, and had lots of flavor. The fries were delicious. The meal was priced about normal, costing bout$30 for 2 complete meals.
I would definitely eat here again

That Burger Joint shares the building with Oberweis Dairy and Wood Grain Pizzeria, so you have a choice of LOTS of different foods. All can be ordered from one location, and you can sit inside any of the three sections or take your food to one of the outside table.

Our original plan was to split a burger then finish the meal with an ice cream. But, we were visiting from out-of-town (6 hour drive) and we REALLY wanted to experience the ice cream. So, we ordered our That Cheeseburgers TO GO, and splurged on ice cream in a waffle bowl.

We were too full that evening to eat the burgers in our hotel room, so we packed them in a cooler and drove them back to Ohio, where we shared them (after adding a local burger and fries to the mix, for a full meal for all involved).

We weren’t sure if we would like the TBJ sauce, so we had them put it “on the side”. It was so good that we wanted more.

A fun dining experience

I absolutely love the concept of getting icecream, burger and pizza from one spot. It’s great for families. My chicken sandwich was eh…that why I am doing only 3 stars. Everything else was great.

I have driven by this restaurant about 50 times and finally decided to stop in and try it. I want to post this so people know because my impression of this place was honestly confused, from the outside of the building, it looks like a strip mall with 3 separate businesses(Oberweis Dairy, Woodgrain Pizzeria and That Burger Joint), when it’s actually the whole building is all 3 concepts combined. The food is amazing! Ample seating, order to food was about 6 minutes. The food tasted great(I had the That Cheeseburger Double with everything on it and cheese fries. My wife had a single bacon cheeseburger with loaded fries and the kids had cheese pizzas). Everyone loved their food!!! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR: come try this place out. I will be a regular here!!!!!!!

A breath of fresh, familiar air in our city that has new fooderies at least monthly. It was great to see the front room busy with people, observing social distancing but still living life. The food was ultra-fresh. The burgers were akin to some of the best we’ve cooked at home, and Hot! Thank you! The pizza was also fresh, but the sauce wasn’t to our liking. We’ll try one of the different sauces the next time we’re in. We didn’t go in for ice cream because we were already $45 in on three people ordering two burgers, a pizza and drinks. The model here is a unique one and while it looks strange from the outside, it makes a lot of sense to have what amounts to a mini foodcourt right inside one restaurant that shares a roof. We look forward to visiting here to try more for sure.

My wife liked it (steakhouse burger) but I felt it (bacon and cheddar burger) was nothing special. Lettuce and pickles were of higher quality though. Prices are on the higher end. Atmosphere was comparable to other burger joints. It is nice to have burgers, individual pizzas and ice cream all together. Fries were thin but not crisp.
