I had my first date with my partner here in 2008. He’s been going even longer than that. They are always so excellent, kind, attentive, and the food is awesome. The staff are wonderful and the space is clean. I’m never sad after leaving here (too full of pho to be anything but grateful to be alive). Please don’t let the neighborhood issues keep you from visiting Than Vi and Little Saigon. The folks at Than Vi are wonderful, make delicious food, and deserve support.

I recently visited this restaurant with my kid and my friend family.
It was the first time visiting for me and my friend highly recommended the crepe. I am so glad I tried it! The crape is gluten free (please double check it yourself. I am not allergic to gluten but I am sensitive so I eat rice if I have a choice).
The crepe is nice and crispy, the shrimp and bean sprouts are freshly tucked inside of the crepe.
Eating with Romain lettuce and fresh herbs are so refreshing!
Spring roll salds (shrimp) was a good portion. My kid had Chicken Phoʻ and they enjoyed the flavor.
The service was nice and friendly and they were attentive.
I’m appreciate they’ve been running their business in the sketchy (it’s been sketchier). You could order for a to go.

Really solid Viet restaurant. Their grilled pork is my go to with lemongrass and fish sauce and broken rice. This dish balanced with a nice taste of char and pickled veggies. The soups, stir fry’s and appetizers are all delicous. I’ve been coming here since the 90’s and love that in a time of Tamarind Tree, Green Leaf and fancy Viet inspired cocktails and sugar cane juice, Than Vi has remained consistent.
I only wish that there wasn’t so much chaos outside of the restaurant. I hope customers see the gem of this restaurant and are not detracted by what’s outside.

Best pho in Seattle! I always get mine with tendon and most places will only give you a cook couple of tiny pieces but not Thanh Vi. The broth is rich and the chili oil is actually somewhat spicy! (For some reason that’s rare in Seattle)
Unfortunately, there are always sketchy people hanging around outside, but don’t let that deter you! They never bother me, and I’m a woman that comes here alone a lot. I appreciate that the workers are kind to them, from what I’ve seen.

Been going here for years, the waiters and waitresses are consistently attentive, kind, and careful. The food is easily the best in Seattle, for a reasonable price as well. Coolest part? Their bathroom has both a toilet AND a urinal! Bun Bo Hue

3.5 for the food and 5 for the service. My Ninh Hoa nem nuong wasn’t served with Ninh Hoa sauce but goi cuon sauce instead. Hu tieu broth lacks of flavor of dry squids and dry shrimp completely. However, they’re super friendly and attentive.

Thanh Vi is in a small Vietnamese plaza in the heart of Chinatown. Parking can be tricky & local residents illegally park in spots where it’s almost dangerous to get out. Food is pretty good. Price is reasonable.

Best pho in Seattle. I come here once a week, and it’s the best hangover cure. They have a huge menu and everything that I’ve ever had is always a hit. I also loveeee the fresh rolls — they have the fried wrapper in it so you get some nice texture and the peanut sauce is perfect. I also really like the banh xeo here. The service is also speedy and servers are very kind.

I had the Shaken Beef, Grilled Beef Short Ribs, and the Fish Sauce Fried Wings. They were all great. There are also a good amount of Vietnamese condiments to spice up the meal even more. Prices are fair. I only wish the food was slightly less sweet, as sometimes it’s a bit overpowering. Overall, I would recommend the Beef Short Ribs to anyone.

Nothing can truly beats your mom’s cooking but authentic Vietnamese noodle soups are a lot of work.
Bun rieu is probably my favorite Vietnamese noodle soup dish & not many places make it well. Due to the amount of work it needs & ingredients this dish has. I am happy to say I finally found a spot that makes it well enough for me to order again.
Aside from the amazing service, will be coming back simply just for this dish and supporting this mom-and-pop shop that has been in Seattle since I was a little girl.
