I recently dined at Thaitan Thai Cuisine in Karrinyup, and it was a wonderful experience. First, a small tip—at first I mistakenly went to the opposite side of the shopping centre, where the children’s water play fountain is located. The restaurant is actually on the first floor near the food court, so keep that in mind when you visit.
The city view from the restaurant was absolutely stunning, making the meal even more enjoyable. We ordered Pork Belly, Pad Thai, and Beef Salad—all of which were delicious and beautifully presented.
I love Thai food but I’m not good with very spicy dishes, so I asked the friendly staff for a milder option. They kindly adjusted the flavors, and the dishes turned out perfectly suited to my taste.
Great food, warm service, and a lovely atmosphere with a view—highly recommended!

I recently came across this restaurant while wandering around the Karrinyup food court. The space was clean, bright, and much more relaxed compared to the busy food court atmosphere. I ordered the Tom Yum noodle soup and a Thai milk tea—both were authentic and delicious. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience really enjoyable.

Quite disappointed with this dining experience. The staff were really nice and gave us a window seat, which we appreciated. But the food here was far from standard.
The ginger rice was so dry—it stuck together and was hard to chew. The crispy pork belly was way overcooked; it nearly broke my teeth (not even exaggerating).
You could taste that many of the ingredients were not fresh at all. The slow-cooked Massaman beef was dry, and the curry was flat and bland. The Chili Basil Pad Thai had no heat or chili flavor whatsoever. The only good part was that the chicken breast was soft and juicy.
Also, the portion sizes were quite small, especially considering the prices.

Unfortunately our experience here was beyond lackluster with bland tasting Thai food with some being hard to eat. The surf and turf pad Thai sounds interesting on paper but found that the pork belly was incredibly dry (and most likely frozen) and was also served only 2 pieces of prawns. The noodles on that was also very bland which made it just taste like boiled noodles. The Massaman Beef Curry was also very bland as the beef and curry lacked flavour.
The only thing I really enjoyed was the mango sticky rice which was not too hard of a dish to make with the ice cream being bought from another supplier as opposed to being hand made. The service was really good though as the staff were kind and friendly, such a shame that they’re stuck in an establishment like this.

The mock tail was good. It’s tastes fresh, not too sweet.
We also ordered coconut prawn, deep fried barramundi, stew pork leg, cocomaric rice and pandan ginger rice.
The barramundi was too dry. The prawn was worse. I felt like I was eating cardboard. It was better when I took off the coconut part.
I was surprised that the pork leg was boneless.
Both rice were nice.

We chose to have lunch here because of their 4.8 star rating. Service was good. Staff were quick to seat us, take our orders and asked about the food. Food though was the worse Thai we’ve had. The beef salad was overly sour and beef over cooked, crispy pork larb was hardly crispy and braised beef noodles was so sweet and beef was tough. All the bad cooking just made the mediocre pineapple fried rice the best of the selection even though the dish is actually quite underwhelming. Unfortunately the food was so bad, it couldn’t be saved by service or ambience.

Staff are very friendly and polite. The basil mince pork was so delicious. We asked to put the chilli on the side to cater for our kids. The Barramundi with 3 sauces was also very tasty. We also asked if the chef can make Tom Kha soup and it turns out that can!

Good food and excellent view. We had the coconut prawns which was one of the recommended dishes, nice crunchy and easy for kids. Crispy pork salad was refreshing, crunchy pork skin and salad perfectly paired with red onion. The pad thai is tasty and packed with flavour.

Very glad we found Thaitan Thai Cuisine within the Karrinyup Chopping Centre. We found the staff to be very friendly and the food to be fresh and very flavourful. The menu is very big with many options to satisfy most people. Parking here is very easy in the underground lot and the toilets near by are very clean. We will definitely be back soon.
