⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Wonderful Experience at Thaikhun – The Royal Occasion Cookery Class!

My partner surprised me with a cookery class at Thaikhun called The Royal Occasion, and it was such a fantastic experience! It was not only a fun and unique way to spend time together as a couple, but also a lovely way to connect and learn something new.

A special thank you to Gaby, who organised everything perfectly from the admin side, and a huge thank you to Jane and Mon, who hosted the class. They were both so welcoming, entertaining, and knowledgeable, sharing fascinating stories about the history behind the dishes and the ingredients we used. I forgot to thank the lovely staff member who made me some fresh lemon, ginger and honey tea.

We had our own private area away from the main restaurant, which made the experience feel really personal, and we were so well looked after from start to finish. The ingredients were incredibly fresh, and the dishes we cooked tasted absolutely delicious!

Next time, I’ll definitely be visiting Thaikhun as a diner to try more of their amazing cuisine. Thank you to everyone who made it such a memorable and enjoyable day and of course, to my partner❤ for organising such a thoughtful and fun surprise!

Amazing Thai experience!
I had the Tom Yum soup and it was absolutely delicious — full of flavor, perfectly spicy, and so refreshing. The whole place has such a wonderful atmosphere, with a cozy and beautifully designed interior that really makes you feel like you’re in Thailand. Great food, great vibes — I’ll definitely be coming back!

I have dinner in this highly rated place on google and I must say it depends on items . Service is below average , the service people ignored us when we first arrive and the new item1 wantan char siew noodles is terrible ! I came from Asia and I know how it taste like – noodles are soggy and Cha siew is like red-coloured non marinated pork without cha siew taste , and as you can see I didn’t manage to finish the noodles – disappointing ! And it’s not cheap at all ! Not worth the visit !

Yesterday I had the pleasure of visiting Thaikhun in Bath. I have been here a few times now over my time at university and every time I’ve been I’ve had a great experience.

What strikes you immediately is the authentic feel, you literally feel like you’re walking into a piece of Thailand. The layout imitates the hustle and bustle of the streets and food stalls of Bangkok with bright and colourful Thai advertisements, street signs, Buddhist shrines and much more.

The service was second to none. My server Oat, originating from Bangkok, immediately brought the famous Thai hospitality that I experienced on my travels to life. He was attentive, friendly and a genuinely lovely guy to have a chat with.

I ordered the Thai BBQ chicken wings, the stir fry pork belly with egg fried rice. The food was authentic, tasty, well-balanced and the right level of spice. It really took me back to the delicious flavours, spices, seasonings and aromas I experienced when I visited Thailand.

I would recommend this place to anyone that loves Thai food or wants to try Thai food for the first time!

Had a very fulfilling meal here with families on Tuesday afternoon before leaving Bath. All the dishes we ordered were served piping-hot and fresh. Decent portions and overall good value for the price. We loved the decorations inside the restaurant a lot which really makes you feel like you are dining in a food stall on a Bangkok street.

I have very mixed feelings about this place. Upon reading other reviews, I do think the staff is racist towards Asian. Their attitude was cold, judgmental and hostile. We asked to be seated in one of the booths on the left side, which was denied, saying that the area was “closed”. We were then seated on an uneven table, which made it difficult to keep food on. We changed tables & were given very nasty glares & staff were whispering to each other in front of us. It was very obvious and frankly appalling behavior.
It’s a shame because the authentic, street style décor of the restaurant is really lovely and the we liked the food. Its not the best Thai food we have ever had but it was decent.
The staff also refused to replace any of the pork with alternatives in their shared starter platters. When our food came, they asked us THREE times to remove one of the plates while there was food in it. We felt very rushed even though the restaurant was basically empty. My friend wanted to get the unlimited rice cracker. When we ordered, they tried to get us to order 2 portions and when we refused, the told me I could not eat any of the rice cracker. Yes!! I know!! I didn’t order them because I. Didn’t. Want. To. Eat. Them!! The sharing platter also had a sneaky price increase as it actually costs £20+ for two people instead of the stated £11 price. This increase was written in small fine print on the menu. Very money grabby! I would NOT recommend this place due to the staffs behavior. Please go somewhere else as the food is only decent.

This was our second time. Last time we visited was in 2019. The only difference felt was the hospitality.

The interior takes you back to old Thailand. The quirk in the environment will wow you at the very first glance.

The food is amazingly authentic. We ordered:

– Crispy Calamari, prawn tempura, Tom yum goong and papaya salad for starters

– spicy basil rice with minced chicken, southern style chicken stir fry, chicken katsu curry and jasmine rice for mains

– Mango sticky rice, and coconut ice cream

The food were simple yet bursting with flavours.
The coconut ice cream needed some shredded coconut and toasted peanuts. Other than that the food was absolutely spot on.

Waiting Staff could have been a little bit warm
and welcoming.

I’d highly recommend a visit to this restaurant.

Note: Only the Chicken served at the restaurant is Halal. However, they sell alcohol.

We visited this charming Thai restaurant in Bath and loved every bite! The pineapple fried rice had perfect wok hei (smoky aroma) with juicy pineapple chunks, while the pad thai and fishcake tasted just like Bangkok street food – tangy, slightly sweet, and packed with flavor. The iced Thai milk tea was creamy and refreshing with just the right sweetness.

The 70s-80s Thai decor (think vintage posters and wooden carvings) made us feel transported to old-school Thailand. Service was warm and dishes came out quickly.

Standouts:
– Truly authentic Thai taste
– Cozy retro atmosphere
– Generous portions

I think it was pretty good. The cocktails were probably my favourite thing, i don’t really like the starters as they were a bit bland. I had the seafood udon as my main which was decent. Not as spicy as I assumed it would be
