I ordered the Red curry with chicken. I got a lot of dry hard chicken and VERY LITTLE curry. I couldn’t even finish the chicken it it was so bad.
The veggies were good- with exception of the baby carrots- they tasted like chlorine wash.
The red curry sauce was delicious, both spoonful. I asked for more curry sauce because there was SO LITTLE on my plate and they kindly brought me a little more. Curry was $15- seems like a lot for 2 spoonfuls of curry.
I am generally quite particular about Pad Khing (Ginger Chicken) when I order it. I was not disappointed here at all!
Don’t be fooled by this place’s unassuming exterior. Go in, sit down, order, and enjoy!!
We ate there on Christmas day. The food was prepared fresh and served hot. Based on my experience I wold not hesitate to eat there again.
I would note that as with any restaurant the food can be prepared perfectly, but if you don’t like the recipe you aren’t going to like the food. In this case I did enjoy the recipe (I had the pineapple fried rice with shrimp) and It was delightful! It was served in a hollowed-out pineapple with a little umbrella – a nice touch. Presentation is part of the enjoyment of any meal.
I don’t order from Thaihot 3 often, because they are very expensive. For a Seafood Salad and a 701 Roll, it’s $35.00. I then add a tip, so around $40.00 for 1 person.
There have been two times that I ordered my seafood salad not spicy (because that’s an option they give), but when my food was delivered, it was very spicy. The first time I called, they wanted me to drive to them to get my correct order. I don’t think that if you pay for delivery and your meal is incorrect, the customer should have to deliver the meal back. They should send someone to give the correct order, and the customer should give them back the wrong order. Again, this is paying for delivery. The first time, they sent a really nice girl/woman to my apartment to deliver the correct order and I gladly gave her the spicy order. I wish I could have tipped her, but I don’t keep cash on me ever, and I’m really sorry that I can’t remember her name, because she deserves to be recognized and I’m doing her a great disservice.
The second time I ordered my seafood salad, it was spicy, even though I clicked on not spicy. I called and the woman wanted me to bring it back. I told her I paid for delivery, so if she wanted me to take it back to them, she would need to return any fees and taxes I paid for the delivery. Then she started trying to refund me for the entire meal! I told her no because I didn’t have a problem with my 701 Roll and I ate it. That’s not right to refund me for something that can’t be returned. I think we were both just totally baffled. I don’t want a refund for anything but the item that was made incorrectly, and I definitely want to return it so they know I’m not lying. Overall, I think she refunded my husband’s card for the entire meal. So, I pretty much decided that when I do order from them (won’t be a habit as I’m not made of money), I will pick it up so I can make sure everything is okay before I leave.
I really enjoy the 701 roll because it has tobiko & masago on it (I order extra). The Seafood Salad (when made correctly) is amazing. I’ve never seen another sushi restaurant that makes it like that. Sakura’s kani is amazing too, so sometimes I’m conflicted about who to order from. I tried their Miso soup once, but it has a bit of spice that I feel destroys the taste. Sakura can take care of that for me.
My biggest con is the price for just 1 person. $15 for the Seafood Salad and $20.00 for the 701 Roll. I can kind of understand the price of the sushi roll, but still: wow!
The last time I ate from there, I ordered for pickup because I was already out with my cat.
