We at PDX Service Reviews found Thai Vendor to be an unexpected delight – tucked away behind OHSU as the highest elevation restaurant in the city. The service is always professional and friendly, though some of the staff seem slightly sleepy. We are unsure how long they have been around, but decorum seems to be building up, only adding to the cleanliness and comfort of the space. We originally gave Thai Vendor a try out of convenience, but have continued to come back for their exceptional food and unanticipated quality at a great price. This cozy, family-owned restaurant is truly a gift to the Homestead neighborhood and definitely worth a trip up the hill to experience.

Honest review. I tried this Thai restaurant for the first time not too long ago, and I LOVE IT. I loved the options, not too overwhelming the amount of options like other restaurants. I also loved the staff, super nice and friendly. THE biggest two reasons why I love this location and would highly recommend it are vibes and price. This place is still small and low-key vibes because most other people go to the trendier and well positioned locations but this location is just what I want, simple and great food and service. THE PRICE is unbelievable, super reasonable dare I say on the low end and it’s even lower for lunch orders! I will for sure be returning to this location for all the reasons I have listed above and I would HIGHLY recommend this amazing little location. If you have not tried Thai food before, a good dish to start you off is the Punang Curry, stir frys, or the fried rice dishes with your choice of meat added to them. My friends have tried their chicken fried rice, curries, and noodles and they have all loved their dishes, so really I think you will get fantastic quality, portions and friendly service. Please do yourself a favor and try this place.
For reference on prices, my typical dishes at other restaurants cost about $17-$21, here it was $12.50 during the lunch menu.
Small family owned restaurant, very friendly.
You can order online or via phone.

Absolutely hands down the best little Thai place around! I’ve tried many Thai places from Forestgrove to Gresham and everywhere in between and I gotta say THIS IS THE PLACE. EAT, it’s SOO GOOD! The portions for the price, the freshness and flavor can’t be beat. They have never messed my order up, all around the best little spot around! We order almost every Week (today we got food for “wide width Wednesday, an inter-office holiday celebrating the fat kid inside us all who just wants to wear the stretchy pants and eat good food without worrying about our “girlish figures” for one day!) so we indulged In Thai Vendor! Sorry the pic is lame I couldn’t wait to dig in! Stop by, don’t cheat yo’ self TREAT YO’ SELF next time”Wide width Wednesday” rolls around!

This is quite simply the most outstanding thai food I have had in years. I could eat here every day. Warm and lovely service and space. The green curry is divine.

One of the few restaurants at OHSU. I love their specialty curry. That is what I come back for. We often like to have our small size celebrations here. The last time we had a going away party. We called ahead and the table and our order were ready for us when we got there. Good food and friendly conversation.

Excellent lunch! I had the orange chicken. The chicken was just slightly crispy on the outside, but moist and tender on the inside. It was also very nicely sauced. The vegetables it was served on were done, in my opinion, to perfection. They were neither too soft nor too crisp. The rice served as a side, was just the way I like it neither too sticky, nor too fluffy. Service was fast and friendly.

Ordered takeout via their website for Chicken Pad Thai and Fried Brussels Sprouts. Ordering/pickup process was smooth. Portions were generous and the Brussels sprouts were killer good… the peanut sauce served on the side is downright drinkable! The Pad Thai had good flavor but it was unfortunately missing green onion, which their description says it includes.
All said, definitely will be back for more of those delicious Brussels Sprouts and to try other dishes!
–edit 10/4/2021: I’ve since been back a few times and tried the Cashew Nut Delight, Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango, and the Basil Fried Rice. Everything has been soo delicious and just as described. Staff is very nice too. Definitely a new favorite Thai restaurant in the area!

This is the hole in the wall Thai food that you want. Fluffy rice, fresh steamed vegetables, and something as basic as orange chicken is elevated. Work near by and never felt so fancy eating in my car. Also, don’t sleep on the sticky rice with mango

Sooo good. Very cute place, amazing food. The pad Thai has some serious heft and is very tasty. The green curry has a generous amount of vegetables and the note of heat was really nice. An order will feed you for two days, at least.

This is pretty much exactly what I look for in Thai cooking. The Thai eggplant had the amazing balance I look for. Great fresh ingredients and portion size.
