Thai Orchid is a family owned and run business. Chef and owner Kanya Nicholas is from Thailand and prepares Authentic Thai Food found in Thailand’s Northeast and Central Regions. Her formal training was in Bangkok providing the traditional selections on your menu, her family lives in the Northeast and she brings you her favorite Dishes from that area providing a Sphere of additional items not usually found in restaurants outside of Thailand

I do love their food here—it’s just very expensive. I got a small chicken massaman curry and crab rangoons, and everything was phenomenal. It cost about $25. You could definitely make two meals out of it, but if you’re really hungry, you could easily eat it all in one sitting.

The food was very good and fresh. The place is busy so you know the food is getting turned over and you’re not eating old food. You can look into the kitchen from the waiting area. The place is clean. The service was good.
It was our first time here. There’s only six tables and there aren’t any two-seaters they’re all four seaters and the tables do not pull apart. You may have to wait. We got there at 5:30 and had to wait a half hour. Quite a few people didn’t want to wait and took their food to go. There was a lot of local food traffic coming in. Good sign.
We had samosa and crab rangoons. Yellow curry and evil Curry.

Fantastic service and food! Their Thai tea is so good along with their ginger tea if you’re feeling that seasonal tickle in your throat. Desserts are always on point!

We’re in the area, and had a craving for Thai cuisine. Upon looking for a Thai restaurant in the area, we were surprised to see several choices. We decided to try out Thai Orchid because it was open, and close by.
Their menu offers a wide selection of Thai curries, and other flavorful dishes. Seating area is not large, but accommodating. Staff was friendly, and service was fairly quick. The most important aspect was that all entrees ordered hit the mark. It was all nicely prepared, with just the right spices. They do offer take outs as well.

Tiny place with a handful of tables. Good service, great food. We loved every dish that we ordered. Had the wings, crab Rangoon, and vegetable dumplings for appetizers. For the main course we went with a red curry, Thai basil fried rice, a ground pork and basil stir fry, and some chicken satay. I personally loved the red curry the most. A Thai iced tea went very well with the flavorful foods – and came in a generous size.

Great food in stroud township PA. People who work there were very welcoming and patience. We went there during weekend with friends. I felt homely and food was super comforting. Mango curry and fried rice were yum and much different and tastier than other Thai restaurants! I loved food here but place is not fancy or very well decorative. Service is also amazing – the servers are attentive and kind – even while handling a bunch of to go and delivery orders at the same time,! They even sell local honey and baklava at the counter… And they are fantastic!

I’ve been coming to Thai Orchid for years, but this last visit today was absolutely disgusting and disappointing. I ordered curry with rice, sticky rice with coconut sauce, and Pad Thai — but instead, they gave me the wrong noodles, and everything had an extreme odor, like something rotten. The food smelled so bad it made me feel sick.
When I tried to taste it, it was honestly one of the worst things I’ve ever put in my mouth — it literally tasted like something spoiled beyond belief. I’ve eaten Thai food many times before and especially at this place plenty of times before, and this was nothing like it. It was nasty and inedible.
When I went to tell the young lady (the daughter) at the front, she immediately started yelling at me and accusing me of saying their food wasn’t fresh, when I was simply asking for a refund because the food made me want to throw up because of how spoiled it was. Then the owner (the mother) came out and started almost cursing at me, being completely disrespectful instead of listening to what I was trying to explain.
This used to be one of the first Thai places in the area, but the quality has gone downhill so badly that it’s embarrassing. The food smelled rotten, tasted horrible, and the staff treated me terribly when I tried to give feedback.
This place has become disgusting and unprofessional — I’ll never return, and I hope others don’t waste their time or money here. If you want to save a trip to the hospital, don’t come here!
