This food is so delicious, so if you’re ordering takeout, this is a great place for that.
Unfortunately, my dine-in experience was quite upsetting. The waitress, Liz, was very short with us from the start. When my fiancé asked questions about the food and how it was prepared, she had a very annoyed tone and gave quick answers. It seemed like she couldn’t walk away from out table fast enough. She kept trying to rush us to order, even though we had only been seated for 5-10 mins or so and asked for some more time to look over the menu. We didn’t say anything about this and we weren’t rude. We kept smiles on our faces and were polite.
Once our food was ordered, she didnt return to our table. Not even to see how we were doing with our meals, which I believed was pretty standard restaurant etiquette, no? She passed us off to another waitress and we didn’t see her again.
I observed a much more bubbly attitude and attentiveness from this waitress towards the other patrons at their tables. The only difference was that we were the only biracial couple in the restaurant. I obviously can’t know this waitresses’ true bias, but when you visibly treat a black man and a white woman differently than the rest of you patrons, thats called discrimination.
I am thoroughly disappointed that a restaurant with such wonderful food left such a bad taste in my mouth

We often get Thai nam phet catered at work. I can’t speak for price or atmosphere but the food is incredible. The spring rolls are addictive and chicken satay is delicious. It is never dry like chicken can get sometimes, always flavorful. However they marinate it is so good. Will have to order for lunch on a day off sometime. I would love to try their pad see ew or drunken noodles sometime.

Choose this restraunt if you love authentic Thai food. My husband enjoyed the steamed dumplings appetizer and drunken noodles. I enjoyed the mermaid shrimp appetizer and The Tom Yum soup for my meal. The outdoor seating area was very nice and clean, and the service and food were spectacular. You will not be disappointed, and we will be back.

I came in for the lunch special. The starter salad with peanut dressing was very delicious. But then I had the green curry with chicken as my main dish. The vegetables were barely cooked, almost raw. I did not eat some of the eggplant because it was very undercooked. I also tried the custard for dessert. It was warm on top and cold on the bottom – I could tell it was microwaved but not evenly heated all the way through. Very disappointed.

I’m originally from New York, where I’m surrounded by incredible restaurants—so my standards are very high. That’s why I was blown away by Thai Nam Phet here in Rockaway NJ. This place is hands down the best Thai restaurant I’ve been to.
The curry puffs are insanely good—crispy, flaky, and bursting with perfectly seasoned filling. Honestly, they’re better than anything I’ve tasted in a very long time, and I’d come back just for those alone.
The Pad Thai is also amazing—balanced, flavorful, and made with care. You can really taste the freshness of the ingredients and the authenticity in every bite.
If you’re anywhere near Rockaway New Jersey, this place is a gem. I’d easily compare it to the top Thai spots in NYC—and in some ways, it’s even better.

Asked for a Thai iced tea and was given a full cup of ice with little tea. Food was very over priced compared to other Thai restaurants in the area. The woman managing the take out seemed rude and had attitude. Used to be a great place but now do not recommend.

I celebrated my 80th birthday with my wife at my favorite restaurant, Thai Nam Phet. We eat pretty frequently here and have gotten to know the staff and owner. We love the food and the staff, plus the restaurant is quiet so you can easily hear each other.
My wife told Tina and Jean about my birthday. We had a delicious lunch of pork chops with garlic sauce that was outstanding, plus it was a very generous portion that we shared, along with tom yum soup for me and tom ka soup for my wife. When we were finished with the food, the whole staff came out with their fresh mango and sticky rice dessert, which is our favorite dessert! Tina knew it was my favorite. The staff sang Happy Birthday to me. This was a very special day for me, and we so much appreciated their sweet and personal attention, which really touched me a lot. Sam, the owner, came to me personally to congratulate me. I don’t think I could have found a better place to celebrate. And we will certainly continue to enjoy the meals and the friendly atmosphere and staff of Thai Nam Phet.
