We started with the Crab Rangoon, which was solid and satisfying—crispy on the outside and creamy inside, just as you’d hope. My wife ordered the Pad Thai, and it was the highlight of the meal. It had great flavor and texture—she found it slightly on the sweet side, but I thought it was just right.
I chose the Yellow Curry with beef, and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. The curry lacked the rich, creamy texture I associate with coconut milk-based curries. We had read in another review that the restaurant may use regular milk instead of coconut milk, and based on the taste and consistency, that seemed likely. It made for a noticeably flatter and less flavorful dish.
If we return, we’d definitely reorder the Pad Thai and Crab Rangoon. I’d recommend asking ahead about the ingredients in the curry, particularly whether it’s made with coconut milk. If not, you might want to opt for something else on the menu.
The outside looks sketchy and you may second guess going in due to few cars in the parking lot. However I would suggest you not pass up the opportunity.
The Pho is great. The fried dumplings are awesome and the orange chicken is superb.
My only complaint…… really about the world as well is the price. It’s going to cost more than McDonalds for a family of six.
I think some spice and garlic would be a welcome addition to the dishes, not that they were bland but certainly lacked any discernable spice (even though it had a pepper sign next to the name)
We may be a bit spoiled from big city food, however. It did do the job. The white rice was good and fresh, and the service was nice and a quiet atmosphere inside the restaurant.
I was a little confused with the menu as it lacks description, but I showed the hostess the picture that looked wonderful to me. It was #55 which says “potato “. So I ordered it with beef and fried rice. It was so good, it’s like a stew but with a great Thai flavor and hit the spot for me.
My husband had the Green Curry with the seafood combo. It was wonderful, and he said he’d definitely get it again. He did get a little tiny bowl of the Panang Curry to see what that tastes like, and we both loved the flavor. Next time, and yes, there will be a next time, we’ll try the Panang Curry with the seafood combo!!
The service was good, the restaurant is very clean and welcoming, the atmosphere is very quiet with no music or any radio. We could actually talk and hear one another.
Why haven’t we gone here before???
Thank you, Thai Chef 9, for the great food and service.
And also for allowing us to try a sample of your Panang Curry.
