Service was a little slow and did not wow us, but server was new. Bartender was great and even brought drinks to table. Food was amazing. For apps we had the Crispy String Beans and the Kanom Jeep, both were delicious! The coctails we had for starters were also great. For mains we Bangkok Chicken and the one that came in a boat (don’t remember the name). Both were great and definitely would get again!

Easily 5 stars would rate higher if it was an option. The food is really good and authentic. The decor and the ceiling fan operated by a pulley added to the aesthetic. Everyone was friendly our server Harley was wonderful and even though busy he was very attentive.

Thai Boat Restaurant — we absolutely loved it! The food is so delicious and full of authentic Thai flavors. The atmosphere is perfect — cozy, fun, and beautifully decorated. The bar is amazing too — they make great drinks and the presentation is fantastic! ✨
If you’re looking for real Thai street food vibes, I highly recommend this place! ❤️

Excellent thai food! Had the papaya salad and all the flavors were spot on so we felt good about the rest to come. The fun presentation of the khao soi came with excellent rich flavor in the curry/broth. The stir fry was not as spicy as I’d hoped, but otherwise great (probably better for most people anyway…). Meal was rounded out with a very generous heap of well cooked and seasoned pad see ew. Favorite Thai food in Richmond so far!

Visited for dinner on a Saturday (4:30pm). Is very cute and lowkey vibe – cocktail was yummy (Sunberry) and the food was delicious! Got pad see ew and cashew nut with beef. Only downside, their bathroom is kinda hard to get to b/c it’s in the same narrow entry way as their back the restaurant storage, kitchen, utility sink. There’s also 2 separate large steps to get into the restaurant.

Tom Kha is one of my favorite soups so I was very excited to try theirs. It did not disappoint! Had the crispy pork belly and crab rangoon appetizers as well and both were delicious.

Absolutely loved being here and are eager to return. The food was delicious and fresh. My other half couldn’t stop talking about how fresh the crab was. The people of Thai Boat were so kind we met the man behind the hot top and our table staff just on a slow rainy morning. They were all so happy and very polite! Eager to bring my friends here for drinks too!

Thai Boat is hands down one of the best new restaurants in Richmond — and it’s all thanks to Boat himself.
He’s the kind of person who makes you feel like an old friend the second you walk in.
Always smiling, always checking in, and clearly putting his heart into everything that comes out of that kitchen. You can tell he cares about every single detail — from the perfectly mixed cocktails to the fact that your rice literally comes out shaped like a cat.
The food is consistently amazing. Fresh, flavorful, and made with real love. But it’s Boat who takes the whole experience to another level. You don’t just leave full, you leave happy.
If every restaurant had a Boat, the world would be a better place.
My wife and I are thankful for an environment to share our love for Thai food and a great night out.

Great food and a great staff!! Chef Bon was a pleasure to meet and the food has to be the closest to an authentic Thai experience that you will find in Richmond! Can’t wait to try everything on the menu

My boyfriend and I enjoyed a wonderful date night with top-tier drinks (he had the Electric Ave and I had the Kaku), appetizers, and entrees! Boat ensured we enjoyed a lovely evening. Will definitely return!
