I ordered Palak Paneer and Purana Singh Chicken Curry from you tonight and I am very disappointed with the food.

As you can see in the photos, the containers were not even filled properly. The quantity was very little, especially for the high price.

The taste was also not good. The chicken tasted like it was just boiled and the gravy was mostly salty with no proper flavour. The Palak Paneer also had very simple taste and did not feel fresh or rich.

Honestly, the food was not worth the money I paid. Very overrated for the price and quality. I expected much better…… Waste of money!!!!!!

Here is my response to your reply as you have added a security that people can’t reply you back.

Thank you for replying… but I still don’t agree

Just to clarify this wasn’t delivery. I came to your restaurant and collected it myself. I am not travelling on a horse or racing through a jungle with your takeaway So the “2cm gap to avoid spillage” excuse really doesn’t make sense.

People in Melbourne generally take their food home by car not horseback
So quantity should still match the price. If you want I am happy to share photos and names of other restaurants with proper quantity.

And taste has nothing to do with dine-in vs pick up.
If the gravy is salty and chicken tastes boiled it will taste the same whether I eat it inside or outside your restaurant.

I paid full price, so naturally I expected proper quantity + proper flavour.
Takeaway, dine-in or pick up quality should be consistent if not then rethink your pricing.

But thank you for replying hopefully next time just fill the container properly and let your customers worry about how they transport it

Not sure why the place has 4.7 . This is the 1st time we tried this restaurant by looking at reviews. Dal makhni had no taste, shahi paneer didn’t have taste and colour, kadhai paneer was so lame. I can tell the curries were uncooked. Naans looks a like they were frozen and not freshly made. Also ordered amritsari fish and kids didn’t like it either. My wife couldn’t even finish her food.. Spent more than i spend usually just in hope to get good food.

I ordered butter chicken and saffron rice for takeaway. The service was excellent, and I can’t fault them there. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite meet my expectations. For such a classic Indian dish, it fell short in terms of color, consistency, and flavor. The saffron rice was an unusual shade of red, rather than the golden yellow I was expecting. As for the butter chicken, it lacked the rich, creamy texture and depth of flavor that typically defines the dish. It wasn’t awful, but it definitely didn’t hit the mark. First time trying them as my regular place has unfortunately shut it’s doors.

Delicious food. The garlic naan is maybe the best I’ve had in a long while. Goat biryani is wonderfully spicy and flavoursome, as well as the daal makhani.

I stumbled upon this hidden gem and I’m so glad I did! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with a modern twist that makes it feel fresh and exciting. It was second visit of us tried breaky & now it was the time of dinner But what really stole the show was the exceptional service and top-notch non- vegetarian Thali. The workers were knowledgeable and friendly none other than Suman & Nitin taking the time to explain the different and best dish to give it to shot. The masala soda jug itself was tangy and refreshing with just the right balance of flavours along with some Indian spices . We also tried one of their signature kids meal butter chicken with Nan , which was flaky, buttery, and absolutely divine. Overall, I’m so impressed with this Indian restaurant and can’t wait to come back and try more of their offerings!”

Went after the positive reviews but had a worst experience on the 1st visit. We ordered Chilli Gobi but received Chilli Paneer however they changed back to our original order still the food was not great as we expected a dry version. Also we ordered Mango kulfi but it was spoilt and other food was average too.

The food here was amazing , really loved everything since the start . The staff were friendly and took good care of us. Me and my friends we really enjoyed the tandoori chicken , the naan and curries to the fullest. Had an amazing dinner and gajar ka halwa was an absolute blast to end it

I have been visiting THAALI for quite some time. Earlier, the food and overall experience were good, which is why we often brought our friends and family there. Unfortunately, over the past couple of months, the service quality has declined significantly.
On one occasion, we ordered butter naan, but the naan served to us was soaked in oil instead of butter. When we raised the issue with the staff, they replaced it with plain naan instead, which was disappointing. This has happened more than once.
Another major concern is that whenever we request a thali, we are told it is not available. Considering the restaurant’s name specifically highlights “Thaali,” it is very disappointing that it is repeatedly unavailable. We experienced the same issue again during our visit last week — oily naan instead of butter naan and no thali available.
After repeated feedback and requests, there has been no improvement. During our last visit, I informed the staff that it would be my final visit due to these ongoing issues.
My only message to the owner is: please do not take your loyal customers for granted. Consistency in quality and service is very important.
