This place is so homey. As a Thai who hasn’t been back home for years, the dishes here really hit the spot. Their crab curry is very aromatic and rich in flavor (with a nice kick too). The softshell crab was so divine and the pork was delicious. We would definitely recommend!

I had a great dining experience at Tha Phraya! The restaurant offers some of the best Thai flavors I’ve had in New York, and the dishes were fresh, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented. My favorites were the Spicy Crab Mango Salad, the Roast Duck Red Curry, and their signature Cha No.5—each one stood out in flavor and balance. The seafood platter and lava crab fried rice were generous in portion and perfect for sharing. The space feels cozy and welcoming, and the service was friendly throughout our meal. Definitely a spot worth visiting if you’re looking for authentic Thai food on the Upper East Side.

Great ambiance and amazing staff was super welcoming and attentive.
I had the Sai Ua Spring Rolls and the Ka-Prow Stewed Beef, and both were delicious. The garlic chili sauce had the perfect amount of spice. I really wanted to try the Miang-Kham, but it wasn’t available.
I’ll definitely be back!

Really loved my dinner at Tha Phraya! NYC has a ton of Thai restaurants, but this one definitely stands out. The menu has a variety of distinct dishes, the space is cozy, and the staff was super attentive. Everything we tried was delicious! We shared the Thai Corn Salad (super fresh), the Crab Fried Rice Lava (really good, though the rice was a bit dry), and the Goong Karee with shrimp, which ended up being my favorite dish of the night. The sauce was so good, I kept going back for more. Would love to come back to try one of their winter specials and the Basque cheesecake

A delicious Michelin selected Thai spot with a fun, creative twist. The pomelo salad stood out for its eclectic flavors. The crab rice was enjoyable, though the crab meat leaned dry. The khao soi was a touch salty, but overall the meal was very satisfying.

The food is very good, but I thought it was more on the expensive side for what you are getting. I liked the tom kha soup and the duck confit (I love the peanut sauce). The coconut ice cream was interesting with the corn, I thought it added good texture. I thought the service was too slow though, it might be because it’s so crowded inside, which I don’t mind as long as it’s e get service still but it was harder

The perk of living in NYC? An absolutely stacked lineup of Thai restaurants.
MENU HIGHLIGHTS
CRAB FRIED RICE LAVA
Not greasy at all. Plus that green sauce somehow made a visually heavy dish taste super refreshing.
TOD MUN GOONG
They definitely didn’t skimp. Each fritter is packed with plump shrimp and pork. The homemade plum sauce leans into the actual plum flavor instead of that overly sweet store bought stuff.
SOM TUM THAI
I always judge a Thai spot by its papaya salad, and Tha Phraya passed the test. Citrusy, nutty, fresh, and unapologetically spicy.
PANANG NUEA
Beef so tender, curry so rich… we honestly wished we could throw some noodles into it.

One of my favorite Thai spots in NYC. I’ve been here three times already and tried the seasonal menu this time. Everything here is so flavorful and honestly memorable. The shrimp with shrimp paste was crispy, juicy, and full of umami. The raw crab was super fresh with that fiery garlic chili flavor that hits just right. The fried fish rice was spicy, crunchy, and comforting. Every visit feels like discovering a new favorite, and it’s always worth the trip uptown.

We visited this place upon the recommendation of a friend. The food is amazing and they are very prompt serving the dishes. The attentive staff refills our water without asking, ensuring we stay hydrated throughout our meal. We particularly enjoyed the Tod Mun Goong, a dish of juicy and crispy shrimp cakes with ground pork. It was so delicious that we’ll definitely return just for that.
Another highlight was the Paloh Hang, a dish of tender meat served with a sweet sauce. It reminded us of Hamonado, a Filipino dish. We also tried the Zabb Hang, a dry rice noodle dish that we found more enjoyable than the Pad Thai.
While the restaurant is very busy, especially during dinner, we recommend making reservations if you’re planning to dine with more than four people. Additionally, they only allow 90 minutes of dining, so be sure to plan accordingly.
Overall, our experience at Paloh Hang was excellent and highly recommended.

Walked into this small Thai restaurant in Manhattan.
Ordered drinks + dishes—got tricked by pretty photos, and honestly… I don’t regret it.
Crispy Soft-Shell Crab
Super crunchy shell, juicy inside, covered with lovely flavours. They served it with fresh lettuce, pretending it’s a light, healthy dish… It’s not. It’s delicious.
Omelette
Looks like a yellow painting on a plate.
Rich, fluffy, I loved the seafood, no explanation needed.
Basically a luxurious version of eggs, and yes, I ate it with zero guilt.
Drinks
The drinks looked so pretty and tasted refreshing!
Price
It stings a little, but hey—it’s Manhattan.
You’re paying for flavor and the ZIP code.
