This is my favorite Texas Roadhouse in the St Louis metro area. They do everything a lot better at this one, than the Texas Roadhouses in St Louis. I had the ribs, which I normally really love, but they were a little dry this time. My partner had the bone-in ribeye, which was phenomenal, and one of the best steaks I have eaten at any Steakhouse anywhere. It was perfectly cooked to a medium, and it just melted in your mouth. She also got the steak smothered with grilled mushrooms and onions. It was absolutely delicious.
I have really never liked the atmosphere here, it’s just okay. The place clean, but it’s very loud. I will continue to eat at this location because 99.9% of the time the food is very, very good here.

After being on the road for four hours along the iconic Route 66, we were starving and decided to stop here randomly. We’re from Chicago, and when we arrived, the restaurant wasn’t busy only about four tables were seated.
Even though it was quiet, it took about 15 minutes for someone to come over and take our order. Once our server finally came, she was friendly, and we ordered a steak and a burger. The food was excellent—cooked perfectly and full of flavor.
Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. Our server never checked back on us, forgot about our table, and didn’t ask if we needed anything. Meanwhile, another table sat down after us and was helped almost immediately.
Overall, the food was great, but the service really brought the experience down.

It was a reliable visit, with nothing memorable overall. We were sat quickly, which was nice. Initial service was quick, although bar drinks took a long time to be delivered. Service then slowed down overall, it took us especially long to pay and leave at the end. The food was okay. While it’s reasonably priced for steak and similar items, it’s not great. The ribeye I received was pretty thin and I didn’t like the green beans. Despite being competitive with prices, the experience is meh.

Sirloin steak was okay. Ribs were tender and had good flavor. Don’t recommend shrimp skewers. Had char on them and that was the overwhelming taste. Sweet potato, steak fries, macaroni and cheese, and rolls were all good. Ladies at pickup window were very nice.

Ordered well done burger though pick up window, but after an overly long wait, I received extremely red and pink burger when I got it home, as well as uncooked rolls. No one on-site would answer the phone, when I immediately attempted to reach them to correct my order. Then so called manager on 3/7/26 wanted to reprimand me because I was angry when I had to drive back to address her poor management. Poorly prepared food and rude management. I am 64 and will not be talked down to like a 10 year old by some young girl who has no clue about customer service. I will be contacting her supervisor next.

I ordered 4 steak dinners and the steak kabob dinner to go. The steaks and kabob were awesome, the steak fries, broccoli and mashed potatoes were great, and let’s not forgot the iconic Texas Roadhouse rolls and butter, of which we were given two to-go containers of them, plenty for 5 people. The service was stellar at the to-go window; the employee that packed our food into two bags did so perfectly and explained where everything was before the handoff. Nothing fell over from Edwardsville to Alton because it was packed so well. We’ll be having this meal again soon.

Disappointing Experience at Texas Roadhouse Edwardsvile
I was really looking forward to dining at Texas Roadhouse, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a frustrating experience.
We were initially told there would be a 40-minute wait, but thankfully, we were seated earlier than expected. However, when we asked if we could switch tables because the booth was too tight, the host said she would check—only to return and abruptly inform us they would just extend the table, cutting us off mid-conversation. I was left speechless. My husband ended up awkwardly seated in the middle of the aisle, which felt unnecessary and embarrassing, especially since it was just the two of us and our son. I would have understood if we were a large group, but that wasn’t the case.
When the food arrived, it was barely hot. As someone who works in the F&B industry, I could tell it had been sitting for 10 to 15 minutes before being served. After just a couple of bites, I decided to ask for a box and cut the meal short.
This was the worst dining experience I’ve had in all my years in America. The lack of attentiveness, poor service, and lukewarm food made it truly disappointing. I hope the management takes feedback seriously and improves both customer service and food quality. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this place.
If I can only put no star/rate i would do so!
