There are many positives about Texas Roadhouse including this location in Matthews. We do a respectable number of road trips around the country and have visited maybe 15 different locations and as others have noted, they are consistent.
On this occasion we visited at 5:00 pm on a Friday and were able to be seated right away. That would not be the case if we arrived at 5:30 pm or afterward. The app allows you to get on the waitlist in advance of arrival, we highly recommend using this feature if arriving near peak times.
You can get peanuts are your table on request – they come in a bag and there is a small bucket for the shells.
We both ordered the 12 oz prime rib, with baked potato and green beans. The mango margherita is highly rated and someday we will try it, but today we chose zero sugar drink options. Which leads to question – can Texas Roadhouse make (on request) a zero sugar low carb margherita?
The service was superb and prompt, our orders were delivered within 17 min, and the food was at the right temperature. We requested the creamy horseradish to accompany the steaks and our server provided this promptly.
The environment is festive but not loud – you can have a conversation at your table. We saw couples and families accommodated with no trouble, and there is the possibility for arranging seating for larger groups.
Overall, it was a great experience, highly recommended.

This TXRH has some operational issues. The last few times I’ve been here service has been marginal. No plates when seated. The silverware is tiny and all bent out of shape. It took our server nearly 10 mins to bring us A1. The rolls are always off – either over cooked or under cooked. They need to get there rolls on track again (see pics). Overall, just needs more attention to detail.

Texas Roadhouse never disappoints. No matter which location I visit, the quality stays consistently impressive. The meals are flavorful, portions are generous, and the service always feels friendly and attentive. The value for the price truly stands out. Even though I usually skip alcoholic drinks, one option on the cocktail menu caught my eye and turned out to be incredibly refreshing on a very hot day. Pairing it with a perfectly cooked steak made the whole visit even better. I walked out satisfied and smiling, already looking forward to the next visit.

Great service. Great food. Great prices. Rolls are on the house and come with homemade honey cinnamon butter. Love the Ribeyes. Cheese is freshly shredded! Great atmosphere! However, the to go always gets my order wrong, and they got it wrong again tonight. I tried to call to get it fixed and I was put on hold and nobody answered.

I came to this Texas Roadhouse location because it was spirt night at my son’s school. When we walked in, we probably waited less than 5 minutes before being seated and the host took us to our seats with hot bread and butter! It’s been many years since I last visited Texas Roadhouse, but I lived in another state at the time. My son said he like everything except the sour cream in his loaded baked potato. My drink and appetizer were good. I had a chicken dish, but the chicken wasn’t tender. I would come back, but I would try a differnt entree

Forgot to post this from last week!
Texas Roadhouse. We picked our steaks and I wish I had gotten a picture of the ‘before’ because they were huge, beautiful ribeyes. Perfect meal, the ribeyes were amazing. Tender, juicy, flavorful. They’ve been consistently great in spite of being a chain. our waitress was wonderful, but then they always are for us. By the way, the fried pickles and the boneless buffalo chicken bites were excellent.

Idk what happened to this location but it is horrible. Ordered steak med and came out well done. Ordered loaded cheese fries and came out regular fries. Foodrunner who brought food out took them back to be loaded. Didn’t send back steak because we already waited too long for the food. Server really didn’t seem interested, tall guy whose section was in front of bathrooms. Didn’t notice I didn’t have a my side when he came back and thumbs up’d and said “everything good” and walked off after not listening to my answer. Quarter of way through my steak I realized there was a long hair attached to the bottom of it so I was done at that point, would have let server know had he been back to the table. Husband had to motion to get a box so at least my dogs could enjoy the overcooked steak with hair attached. Paid bill on kiosk and got out of there. Bad service, bad food, bad location. I’m actually a restaurant manager and would never leave a review like this unless it was justified because I know things go wrong and can’t be helped but at least if the service was good it could have made up for the food being messed up but unfortunately didn’t get that. Only tipped 15% when my baseline is always a min of 20% but couldn’t bring myself to give this guy that. Definitely won’t be returning to this location.

The food was okay. Went late hardly anyone in the there. The bread wasn’t hot and fluffy. It was dense and not the usual yeast rolls. The twisted mozzarella smelled like old grease. My chicken tasted good. But only ate a.few.bits bc it was late. Next warm up my food and was eating to.see yhe chicken noy fully cooked. . So unhappy will never come back to that location in rock hill

It was littler chilly in there but ALEXA was amazing from start to finish off my visit. My food was great and I just might order the blackened shrimp every visit.

I love Texas Roadhouse. It doesn’t matter what city or location, their food and service is always excellent and you can’t beat their value! I am not a drinker, but I saw a drink on their cocktail menu that looked perfect for a days where temperatures were nearly 100 degrees.. Order yourself a steak and a Dale Yeah and you will leave saying DALE YEAH! that was good!!!!
