Brisket is so dry would not get very salty. I think I might Will definitely have to check my blood pressure. Green beans don’t have any seasoning on them. The sausage is all right. My fries are cold. I just got my food. The bread was cool. I will never eat here again. And it was my first time too. Very lame sauce too for the dry, salty food.

It was our first time at Texas Pit BBQ after hearing great things from friends. We were also told there’s an American flag displayed from a fallen soldier, and as locals, active duty members, we were honestly shocked we hadn’t visited sooner. So we decided to stop in on a whim.
We called ahead and spoke with Caleb (I believe that was his name), who confirmed they were open. We told him we’d be there in a few minutes.
When we arrived, we went to the “Order Here” sign, where two wonderful ladies explained the daily special (½ chicken, two sides, iced tea, etc.). When we asked about ordering an adult beverage, they said we could either order at the bar or sit down and someone would come to us. I specifically asked if we needed to check in at the bar, and they assured us no — that they saw us and someone would come over.
The establishment was not crowded and had several staff members on duty.
We walked in at 3:45 pm on a Tuesday and by 4:05 pm we were still sitting there. Everyone seemed to stare at us, but we were never approached, greeted, or served.
After waiting 20 minutes without acknowledgment, we decided to leave.
I’m hoping this was just a one-off experience, but unfortunately, it didn’t feel that way.

Just moved to the area and was excited to try this place but looks like I might have to try another joint. If I’m gonna get Texas bbq and pay Texas sized prices I expect a Texas sized portion. Spent $20 for a three meat plate and portions were sad. I think I might have gotten ONE single slice of brisket if that and even less okra somehow… might have had more onion than the pair combined.
The taste of everything wasn’t bad(ribs were really good) but I felt cheated after…

The atmosphere is the only impressive aspect of this restaurant. Nice building with a ton of indoor/outdoor seating. But the food.. my goodness.
First time my wife and I went we were not impressed with the food but we really wanted to like the place as it’s the only BBQ restaurant in town. Decided to place a to-go order tonight and it was worse than before. Because it wasn’t ready when we arrived, we watched them plate the food. The male in the kitchen scooped my onions and pickles out of the container with bare hands after plating the food. While I’m sure this happens all over the place, doing so right in front of the customer wasn’t pleasant.
Sliced brisket had more of a jerky texture to it. Mac and cheese was just watery noodles. Canned baked beans from the grocery store taste better than theirs.
I just have nothing positive to say. I guess the bbq sauce was good that was about it.

$35 for two potatoes, cheese, 10 bacon bits, a little chopped brisket and ONE 3oz container of BBQ sauce. I get it… The cost of stuff is going up but this is terrible. Underneath the overpriced potatoes with cheese, if I order TWO meals I should get TWO BBQ sauces at a MINIMUM. What am I supposed to do, ask my boss to split the sauce? Eat mine without?
I’ll go to any other BBQ joint in the area from now on because this is just pathetic.

Had the chili and cheese fries, and they were great. They were Elvis style due to the big portion of cheese. If you have the cheese fries here, just remember that there will be an oily edge and top of the cheese because cheddar cheese naturally emits an oil when melted. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THEY WERE OUT OF DR PEPPER DURING MY VISIT!!! I ADVISE THEM TO KEEP AN EXTRA CASE OR 2 OF DR PEPPER SYRUP ON HAND TO AVOID RUNNING OUT!!! I WANT A FREE SOFT DRINK NEXT TIME I COME BACK!!! (Not an alcoholic beverage of course.) DON’T RUN OUT OF ANY SOFT DRINK, PLEASE!!! Like the giant yellow smile face sign out in the front of the parking lot. You also get a good view of the old flour mill across from the railroad tracks. Also will try the other menu items next time, and look forward it. Hope to visit again sooner than later since I live far away from Fort Worth. Y’all deserve my 5 star excellent rating despite the beverage disappointment.

Holy Jesus, what in the barbecue brain crap is happening here? Stopped in for the first time was highly disappointed. The bun was bigger than the meat proportion it was over $13 but the sad part is if you use a credit card here you have to pay 3.5% like I’m paying you to do business with you. Seems Unfair there was so much bread and not enough meat embarrassing to say that that’s Texas barbecue. I would definitely go somewhere else and never come back here. I’m sorry don’t be mad at me. It’s your food. If you’re not gonna give a nice proportion of meat on such a gigantic bun, then make your bun smaller create the illusion that I’m getting what I paid for and the smiley face on the sign should be a sad face just saying

The service was great. The people at the food counter were knowledgeable and very helpful in helping us make a selection. The shredded beef sandwich was spicer than I had anticipated. I tried it with mustard, pickles, onions, and BBQ sauce. I enjoyed it. The potato salad tasted like pickles for the first few bites until I got used to it. Once I got used to it. I liked it. The green beans were nicely seasoned and good. The ribs were absolutely delicious. The seasoning was so good, I didn’t feel it needed to be dipped in BBQ sauce. The fries were delicious. The first few bites seemed very salty. They were uniquely seasoned and paired nicely with the ribs. The Texas toast was not so good. It seemed like it was coated with and had absorbed some sort of oil that gave it an unpleasant flavor. I would have enjoyed it more with butter rather than oil. It was a bit pricey at around $37 for two people. I would be willing to try it again.
