Good food and good service. I tried this for the first time on my way out of town.
I got the split cheese burger with a chicken fried steak. It was very hearty.
Food takes a while to come out, but they make it fresh.
All in all, this is a good place and reasonable value.

The place was awesome!! First thing coming through the door the hostess greets you with a warm welcome! Our waitress crystalle was just as warm and welcoming. Food was on point hot and fresh. Also the matcha drink and pumpkin spice drink we ordered were amazing. 10 out of 10 do recommend!!

First time visiting the Texas Grill and Cafe. Becky came over and visited with us and took our order. She was very friendly and polite. Even gave us a history lesson about the place.
There was so much to choose from on the menu, it took a minute to decide. But we did.
The food was great,even took a banana pudding home.

Great spot for an awesome burger! Cooked to order goodness for sure! Was hard to not order the hand battered chicken fried steak, but it doesn’t come on the jalapeño cheese bun that their burger comes on if ya ask… great staff, friendly & attentive, y’all stop by & tell em Connie sent ya!

We were passing through and decided to stop at this charming little restaurant. The inside was very clean, pleasant and atts well. The staff were friendly and welcoming. There were four in our group, one ordered the elk burger and the other three ordered the BBQ combo consisting of chicken and chopped brisket. Vegetables consisted of fried squash, baked potato, fried okra and fries. We ordered at 11:51, after about 40 minutes we ask our waitress how much longer until our lunch would be served and she said 5 minutes. It was taking longer because the elk was frozen. When we received our meal, the person with the elk burger had to add seasoning but overall it was very good. All the vegetables were good but needed seasoning. It seemed the chicken was from a bag of frozen thighs or maybe breasts, it wasn’t clear what it was. When the waitress set our meals on the table, she handed steak knives to the ones that ordered the BBQ combo. The brisket was very dry and the chicken was overcooked. It was difficult to cut even with a steak knife. The meat wasn’t barbecued, but the waitress did bring barbecue sauce once we asked for it. The restaurant was clean, staff very friendly but we were disappointed in the meal.

I’ve never had an elk burger but I don’t think I ever will again. That was the driest piece of meat I’ve ever put in my mouth. I think the cook over cooked the patty for sure. Waitress was very nice & it’s a cool place. I’ll come back but definitely order something else.

While passing through the area, we found Texas Grill and Cafe. We are glad we did! The service was top notch, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. But the food is why we stopped. We read good reviews, and that helped decide on stopping.
I had the split cheeseburger, and I asked for half white and half brown gravies. It was a very unusual hamburger, cut in half with a scoop of mash potatoes between them. It was very good, I personally liked the brown gravy. I also ordered some onion rings, I really like onion rings, I have had hundreds of from many different restaurants. I would say these were in my top 10 onion rings. A nice, light batter on fresh cut onions that was cooked to a nice crispy batter.
Deb had a children’s hamburger, which was perfect for her. She also the big French fries called house fries. The was hamburger was good, and the fries were really good. We split them so we each had rings and fries.
We really enjoyed our meal, we left completely satisfied!
