Tex-Rican is a one and only Boricua place you really need, the menu varies daily and food is served hot and delicious. You got background music awesome ambient events time to time and the friendliest staff ever found, from the chef to the receptionist. Eating here is a real 100×35 home blast. We Puertorricans love to go eat the exquisite food served here.

The rice needed a little more flavor but still pretty good, and the meats were well seasoned. The tostones needed some dressing to go with it either garlic dip something on the side if they do have it they didnt offer it. The maduros were good nice and sweet and hot. The pastillios were good too they took a while to come out do to a mix up they had between the server and the person who was cooking but over all they were good. Good spot to have a quick bite and enjoy a taste of PR

I love this place. The food is delicious. Worth every penny and they dont skimp on the servings. Rice and beans are to die for. I really wish they would open up in Temple, a little closer to home.

Definitely lacking flavor. Just tasted like someone was heavy handed with the Salt but no caribbean flavors you’d expect. Used to eat here a few years ago but I guess the quality has changed.

Let’s break it down. I ordered rice (they served me a generous portion), pink beans (a very small serving), pickled green bananas, and pulled pork (pernil).
• The rice and beans were decent—nothing special, but good enough.
• The pulled pork was dry, lacked seasoning, and just didn’t deliver on flavor.
• The pickled bananas were hard and flavorless—felt like they were either underprepared or just not fresh.
• I had a Malta drink, which was cool but not cold—just okay.
• For dessert, I went with a pastelillo de guayaba—unfortunately, it was like biting into a piece of cardboard. Very disappointing, especially for the price.
Service-wise, the line staff felt robotic and not welcoming at all. The only bright spot was the cashier, who was very friendly and helpful.
Bottom line: I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for flavorful food and warm service. It’s overpriced for the quality you get.

As soon as I came in they greeted me and explained all on the menu. Great customer service, cleanliness is on point. Music is great, the food is authentic tasting. I had arroz con longoniza de pollo, BBQ ribs, guineaos en escabeche con pegaito. The other 2 plates are rice beans, pollo guisao, maduros, yuca and pernil.

If you are tight on time and craving some Puertorican food, hit this place up! Amazing food selection of the most well-known dishes in Puerto Rico! Food quality is great and I always make sure to get the “Arroz con gandules” with roasted pork and Yuca or Tostones.

I just came back from Puerto Rico about a month or so ago, and the food here, in my opinion, is still better. The staff here is friendly all the time, but the food is always fresh and it is never old. I love the music they play here as well. Makes you dance and eat at the same time. It does get a little warm in here, but hey, piece of puerto rico lol I’ll never get tired of coming here.
