Authentic German food in San Jose, what a gem! I have been here a few times and it is always a blast. Lots of German beer, brats and an excellent staff. The atmosphere is superb and the many different rooms are quite interesting. I always get a great meal and a great time at Teske’s.

As an Austrian I was curious what a German restaurant in San Jose would be like. And I wasn’t disappointed! The atmosphere was nice and cozy, the Wienerschnitzel I got was decent, and I enjoyed the best Sachertorte I ever had outside of Austria. The waiter also spoke German. Would definitely go there again!

The portion sizes are generous; you get what you pay for. The pear salad was very nice, exceeding my expectations. The heirloom tomatoes were also very good, though I wish they had given us four!
Everything else we ordered was well-made and flavorful. The environment is cool, with old-style dining decor and a nice bar. Good service overall.

Clearly a beloved local establishment. We’ve been here many times in the past two years and it has a charm that keeps us coming back. The food isn’t mind blowing, but it’s consistent and well priced. Portions are generous and much of the staff have been with the restaurant for a long time. They celebrate Oktoberfest when it’s the season for it, and it’s very a fun vibe with live music and dancing.
