I should have known better not to eat here. The empty restaurant was the first red flag. The service wasn’t great, and the food was bland. I had high hopes because I love tortas I still dream about the one at Naco Taco, but here it tasted like it had been sitting out, just wasn’t fresh at all it was a soggy mess. Nothing worse than spending money on food that isn’t good. I’d highly recommend Naco Taco in Central Square or really any of the other solid Mexican spots in the area instead. Don’t be like me.

Edit:

I have returned multiple times and tried different sandwiches. Unfortunately it seems to get worse and worse the more I return. Or maybe I just ordered the wrong thing but I got a greasy mess of a torta today. I used seven napkins when trying to eat the sandwich and it just started falling apart and making such a mess I gave up.

I had to leave a review right away as I’m eating my torta. The chefs on the line greeted me when I walked in. The service was excellent and the girl who checked me out was so helpful. I only wish I received such wonderful service anywhere else.

The staff seemed genuinely grateful and happy to make my meal. I ended up getting the campechana torta and I have zero regrets! It was so delicious I want to climb up the roof of Harvard and yell it out. What an amazing place and I really hope they keep it up. I will definitely be back and I want to say thank you to the staff.

Really never know what any one person is going through and seeing people in a positive environment, really sets me on the right track for my day

From the vibe of the inside to the food and drinks, this place has become an instant staple at Harvard Square. The meats are well cooked and fresh. My friends and I all got different tortas and the workers made them fast and well filled with a variety of vegetables and sauces. The staff are friendly and attentive. The seating area is very clean and gives Mexico City taqueria vibes. I am now taking my friends and family to this place when they come and visit.

People were friendly! Tacos were pretty good as well. I’d recommend if you want some tasty tacos. The vibe reminded me of eating tacos in Mexico City a little bit.

When you see a single-layer Tortilla…you know it is a good Taco… I love the asada con cheese…the best Taco in Harvard Square.

Tacos were great, I’d recommend the fish. But, $4-5 for a taco is steep and why it’s not 5 star.

If you’re in Harvard Sq, you really MUST go to Tenoch. Plain and simple, the food is delicious. In Harvard Sq, Felipe’s gets a lot of the attention, and this review is no knock on them. But Tenoch’s tacos are really top-notch and some of the best in the Boston area that I’ve had. Other taco places are going to charge you $8 per taco and add all this random stuff on top. At Tenoch, the tacos are a lot simpler and similar to what you’d find in CDMX – meat or veggie of your choice, onion, cilantro, and that’s it (and sauce of course). They don’t need a lot on top because the flavors are awesome. I’ve had carnitas, chorizo, suadero, al pastor, and pollo, among others. All 10/10. Service is also quick and friendly. Not sure why there isn’t always a line out the door!

The food is excellent – the polar opposite of corporate taco joints. Extravagant, vivid flavors, filling and satisfying. Try any of the tortas (sandwiches).
For some reason they chose a decor for their Harvard Square location that could hardly be less welcoming, a mess of concrete and glass that looks like it was transplanted from the Alewife T garage. The trouble starts immediately when you walk in and are invited to order your food from a computer monitor though the staff is four feet away. Puzzling, because their Davis Square location is warm and inviting, like a country inn.
There’s probably no better place in Harvard Square for take-out, in this price range. Not to be missed.

Today, we dined at Tenoch Mexican and had a fantastic experience. We ordered the Campechana along with chorizo and carnitas (pork)—everything was absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich and authentic, with generous portions that left us more than satisfied.

Service was excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which made the meal even more enjoyable. Prices were very reasonable given the quality and portion sizes.

Highly recommend Tenoch if you’re craving flavorful, well-prepared Mexican food in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.
