The interior has a relaxing, Sunday-afternoon kind of vibe.
The ramen broth is prepared 18+ hours in advance to ensure flavor profile is maximized. There are a lot of great options for everyone of all dietary restrictions.
The banana coconut smoothie was one of the best I’ve had at a restaurant.
Stop by and check them out!
Tempura battered Brussels sprouts were pretty good – light crispy exterior with light batter and interior was cooked but not mushy
Hibachi salmon x 2 – carefully plated but lacking the usual shredded cabbage, maki, small salad or miso soup that completes bento boxes, especially given the price point of $19. Even for lunch this was a bit bare. The flavors were ok, a tad salty but the broccoli balanced it out a bit.
Special roll was served on foil , sushi rice was not quite right , but the fish had plenty of sauce and toppings so hard to tell the quality.
Overall, not the usually Japanese set but not bad.
Lo, I sought it not in haste but in the grim foreknowledge that lesser broths are but thin gruel fit for hobbits who have not yet known true hunger. For a price no greater than the toll at the gates of Bree ($20–30, and well worth the coin of the realm), I crossed the threshold and spake the sacred words: “Tokyo Tonkotsu Ramen—for Garlic Lovers.” And the staff, wise as the Istari, smiled the smile of those who guard ancient secrets.
Then came the bowl.
Ah, that broth! Simmered not for hours, nay, but for a full eighteen hours—eighteen long hours of patient vigil, as though the very bones of the pig had been set to boil by the Ents themselves in the deep woods of Fangorn. Rich, opaque, golden as the leaves of Lothlórien in autumn, it rolled across the tongue like the slow thunder of the Rohirrim across the Pelennor Fields. And the garlic—oh, the garlic! Bold as the breath of Smaug after a particularly fiery lunch, yet somehow never overbearing, it rose up singing, a clarion call that made every pore of my being declare, “Here is power. Here is joy. Here is a ramen that does not merely feed thee, it claims thee.”
I slurped. I sighed. I may have, in the grip of ecstasy, uttered words in the Black Speech that would have made the Nazgûl blush. The noodles held firm, the chashu melted like the snows of Caradhras under the sun of spring, and the soft egg wept its golden yolk into the cauldron as though Galadriel herself had blessed the bowl. Even the bok choy stood crisp and noble, refusing to surrender to the heat like true soldiers of Gondor.
When, in wonder, I asked the staff how such sorcery was wrought, they answered without boast, as the greatest smiths do: “Eighteen hours, every day.” Eighteen hours! While lesser kitchens rush their potions in the time it takes a dwarf to grumble, Tenichi keeps the long watch. And thus the broth emerges not merely delicious, but legendary—a thing of such depth and savor that one half expects the ghosts of ancient ramen masters to appear and bow in approval.
In this age when every corner promises “ramen” yet delivers only the thin lamentations of the defeated, Tenichi stands as a small but steadfast light—unpretentious, unbreakable, and wondrously, gloriously, garlicky.
Five stars, and may the Valar preserve thy breath (for it will be mighty) as they have preserved mine. Go. Eat. Return changed.
Much smaller in size, but the interior still has a great cozy feel. Sushi rolls were delicious. They have an automated ordering system where you order off of a tablet and items are brought to the table. Service was quick. Waitstaff are friendly. Plenty of parking.
Staff was very friendly. You can order using the screens on the table. Menu has pictures for all the dishes. They also have smoothies, milk tea and fruit teas with boba. We tried the pineapple tea and it was a bit bitter.
Bathrooms are nice and clean, but no baby changing table.
I ordered the chashu pork fried rice and the tokyo tonkotsu ramen, and both were just absolutely superb!
The fried rice was incredibly flavorful and had a great variety of textures and flavor. I was particularly impressed with the quantity of protein in the fried rice, as well as with the flavor the rice seasoning, just enough salt and a distinct but not overpowering soy sauce flavor, just the right amount as well.
The ramen was also very good. It had a slightly thick and soupy broth with great richness. It was absolutely creamy and improved as you ate the ramen from the first bite to the last. They put a generous amount of toppings, and the chashu is definitely the best I’ve had in a while. They also give you a load of noodles, which even surprised me since I usually have another serving of noodles.
Not pictured, but I also ordered the crispy tempura brussel sprouts and caramel milk tea. Both were also really good! The Brussel sprouts were cooked just perfectly with none of the pieces soggy, and they all had a satisfying but light crunch and the right amount of salt to season it. The milk tea was also very nice, sweet as I expected, but with a much more pronounced tea flavor that I normally don’t expect anymore from milk tea these days. It was a pleasant surprise!
The price initially felt a bit steep, but thinking about it, it was absolutely spot on! The portions and the flavors were just fantastic, not to mention the stellar decor and vibe of the place. They even have this neat ordering system featuring a lot of tablets, so you can see everyone’s orders and decisions in real time. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating to everyone in my group, which was really appreciated.
I hope more people go here since it really is a great spot!
