We visited early Saturday afternoon. The inside of the restaurant was about half filled, with a Day of the Dead theme, and beautiful murals painted on the walls. They used really nice quality stone dinnerware that matched the restaurant’s theme.

For the two of us, we ordered one drink, one appetizer, and two entrees. After tax and tip, it was $45 per person.

Our appetizer (chips and guac), had nicely fried chips, but a paltry amount of guac. We ran out before finishing even half the chips. The chips were lime spiced, and the guac had lots of acidity as well, leading to the dish being too sour. The avocados used were fresh and ripe (for PEI standards).

Our two entrees were disappointing. The chicken huarache was extremely dry, and parts of the corn tortilla underneath was very hard to chew due to being over-baked. Copious amounts of hot sauce were needed to finish, and the cheese was tasteless.

The vegetarian burrito was wrapped with wax paper, and the chef managed to wrap parts of the paper into the burrito… removing the paper was a hassle, and the burrito became undone due to this, and was very messy to eat.

The highlight of the meal was our mango margarita. It tasted like there fresh mango pulp, and the rim was spiced perfectly.

For $45 a person, would not recommend this place, unless coming only for drinks.

Edit: I must unfortunately post a response to the owner’s inaccuracies in their response to me.

On our visit, we had a male waiter, and not a waitress. Our bill after tax was $79.06, not $77.34, and then exactly $89.06 after I included tip.

The photos also clearly show the small amount of guac, the burrito not rolled correctly, and the dryness of the beans and chicken of the huarache.

I also only send food back if it is undercooked, burnt, an incorrect order, or if it is over-seasoned to the point of being unable to be consumed. Me not liking the food is a matter of my opinion, and that is what my review reflects.

Removed a star due to the unprofessional nature of this establishment’s management.

We did a little Charlottetown bar crawl and loved this stop! Best margaritas in town (we had the mango, spicy, and paloma) that we’ve tried and the chips were a nice pair. The guac and pico are a bit small but that’s when you just ask for some salsa to finish off your chips! Very attentive and accommodating and actually Mexican which is important! Representative local and authentic cuisine thanks again to Angie and the team for a great sunset sip and snack

Myself and my husband went to Tekila for the first time tonight on Valentine’s day without a reservation no less. The staff seated us at the bar and we each chose non-alcoholic cocktails which came out in giant goblets and were so tasty and beautiful. We shared the Molcajetes which were served with delicious fresh made tortillas and 3 different meats, spiced beans, guacamole, and Pico de gallo with cheese and grilled onions. They came with two different spicy sauces that had so much flavour. The meal was amazing, we were in and out in 1 hour or less which was fantastic, and the staff was so pleasant and helpful. Definitely will go again.

Tekila is amazing! I’m so glad we’ve discovered this place! The food is delicious, and it’s unlike any other Mexican food I’ve had (and I’ve spent a lot of time down south, this place is hands down one of the best ever). The menu is diverse and offers a nice variety of choices. The staff are all amazing, and very helpful – special shout-out to Sarah S, who was very friendly and helpful! I honestly can’t say enough good things about this place! The ambience is nice and cozy, too! Definitely one of my favourite restaurants that I’ve ever been to, and I’ve travelled half the world, so that’s saying something! Highly recommend the vegetarian burrito (mushrooms are heavenly) and the chicken burritos!

One of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve been in Canada. Delicious food, excellent service and environment. If you’re in Charlottetown – PEI, you must visit this restaurant. I had a cranberry lime tequila fiz, vegetarianos nachos, vegetariano burrito, pastel tres leches.

Positives:
-Beautiful decor and furnishings
-Unique and tasty food (we had the Zarape for two)
-Margaritas have a nice bite to them (get the Cadillac Margarita!)
-Possibly the best tasting coffee in Charlottetown served in a hefty mug
-Pleasant and well-motivated staff
-Clean and tidy kitchen

Negatives:
-A bit pricey, but worth it.

Summary: A superb place to go on a date or to take off-Island visitors. A real treat.

Went to this tekila restaurant today for New Year’s and honestly regret every minute of it. This place completely ruined what was supposed to be a special day.

The service was painfully slow and careless. Staff looked confused, uninterested, and overwhelmed, yet still managed to be rude. We waited forever just to get seated, then even longer for someone to take our order. No apologies, no explanation, nothing.

The food was a complete joke. Cold, bland, and clearly rushed. This is NOT Mexican food — it’s an insult to it. Tacos were soggy, portions were tiny, and flavors were non-existent. Everything tasted like it had been sitting around for hours. For the price they charge, this was robbery.

The restaurant itself was messy and poorly managed, especially embarrassing on New Year’s when they should be prepared. Tables were dirty, trash not cleared, and the overall atmosphere was chaotic and uncomfortable.

To top it off, the bill was incorrect, and when we pointed it out, the staff acted like it was our fault. Zero professionalism, zero customer care.

If you’re thinking of coming here for a celebration or special occasion — DON’T. Save your money, your time, and your mood. Worst dining experience I’ve had in a long time, and definitely the worst way to start the New Year. Will never return and absolutely do NOT recommend.

It was our first time there and the food and service were phenomenal! We were even invited back for a day of the dead celebration this weekend. The food was authentic and delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our date night there.
