Reviews
For the two of us, we ordered one drink, one appetizer, and two entrees. After tax and tip, it was $45 per person.
Our appetizer (chips and guac), had nicely fried chips, but a paltry amount of guac. We ran out before finishing even half the chips. The chips were lime spiced, and the guac had lots of acidity as well, leading to the dish being too sour. The avocados used were fresh and ripe (for PEI standards).
Our two entrees were disappointing. The chicken huarache was extremely dry, and parts of the corn tortilla underneath was very hard to chew due to being over-baked. Copious amounts of hot sauce were needed to finish, and the cheese was tasteless.
The vegetarian burrito was wrapped with wax paper, and the chef managed to wrap parts of the paper into the burrito… removing the paper was a hassle, and the burrito became undone due to this, and was very messy to eat.
The highlight of the meal was our mango margarita. It tasted like there fresh mango pulp, and the rim was spiced perfectly.
For $45 a person, would not recommend this place, unless coming only for drinks.
Edit: I must unfortunately post a response to the owner’s inaccuracies in their response to me.
On our visit, we had a male waiter, and not a waitress. Our bill after tax was $79.06, not $77.34, and then exactly $89.06 after I included tip.
The photos also clearly show the small amount of guac, the burrito not rolled correctly, and the dryness of the beans and chicken of the huarache.
I also only send food back if it is undercooked, burnt, an incorrect order, or if it is over-seasoned to the point of being unable to be consumed. Me not liking the food is a matter of my opinion, and that is what my review reflects.
Removed a star due to the unprofessional nature of this establishment’s management.
The space is beautiful and the atmosphere is great.
The service was very attentive, friendly , and quick. I didn’t get the servers name but she was fantastic.
The food was delicious, and didn’t leave you feeling heavy.
Wonderful experience, worth checking out.
-Beautiful decor and furnishings
-Unique and tasty food (we had the Zarape for two)
-Margaritas have a nice bite to them (get the Cadillac Margarita!)
-Possibly the best tasting coffee in Charlottetown served in a hefty mug
-Pleasant and well-motivated staff
-Clean and tidy kitchen
Negatives:
-A bit pricey, but worth it.
Summary: A superb place to go on a date or to take off-Island visitors. A real treat.
The service was painfully slow and careless. Staff looked confused, uninterested, and overwhelmed, yet still managed to be rude. We waited forever just to get seated, then even longer for someone to take our order. No apologies, no explanation, nothing.
The food was a complete joke. Cold, bland, and clearly rushed. This is NOT Mexican food — it’s an insult to it. Tacos were soggy, portions were tiny, and flavors were non-existent. Everything tasted like it had been sitting around for hours. For the price they charge, this was robbery.
The restaurant itself was messy and poorly managed, especially embarrassing on New Year’s when they should be prepared. Tables were dirty, trash not cleared, and the overall atmosphere was chaotic and uncomfortable.
To top it off, the bill was incorrect, and when we pointed it out, the staff acted like it was our fault. Zero professionalism, zero customer care.
If you’re thinking of coming here for a celebration or special occasion — DON’T. Save your money, your time, and your mood. Worst dining experience I’ve had in a long time, and definitely the worst way to start the New Year. Will never return and absolutely do NOT recommend.
