We were in the mood for Coneys–something I’ve missed from the East Coast. Their Coneys are okay. It didn’t really satisfy my craving. The Chicago dog stole the show for me! I will 100% come back just for that alone. Although, they have a decently big menu so maybe I’ll try something else in addition to the Chicago dog next time. Hubby loved his burger! The staff was great! They were young, but were really helpful and seemed like they liked being there. I love people that take pride in their work. The restaurant was so clean, too!

We got the coney dogs and gyro. I love chili dogs but these were terrible. The coleslaw was mid, the onion rings were average same for the fry’s. I probably would have left 3 stars for all around just average food and gas station tasting hot dogs seriously you’re better off picking up a chili dog from quick trip for $3. Food was way overpriced, won’t come back again.

Around 3 pm Wednesday, I wanted to try out Ted’s. I got the Coney Island hot dog, I asked for just chili. It could have been named something else because it was my first time there. I have to be completely honest it was disgusting. It looked like throw up, the smell was not good, but I wanted to give it a try. I gagged it was really bad. When I drive by I usually see a lot of cars there, I guess no one’s getting the chili. My advice is Ted do better. Unfortunately, because I had my pictures on live, google won’t let me upload the photos.

After 7pm on a Monday night My Brother and I found ourselves starving After a day of being attentive to our Elder mother at Methodist Hospital. Dreading eating outing if the vending machine I googled food near me and Ted’s sounded delicious. And it was. Chicago dogs, Massive tenderloin and Onion Rings later and we were completely satisfied. It’s good food. I’d go back no problems. 8.2/10

Great local staple! You can make your dollar stretch pretty far here – 3 sandwiches (1 with a basket) and 2 desserts for under $30. I use the little drive thru they have, and LOVE the coneys with cheese. Baklava is great, too.

I’ve been here a few times…. Walking into Ted’s Coney Island is like waltzing in as Jimmy the Greek who only orders gyros because it’s like spotting a little piece of Athens hiding in Des Moines. I know they serve other things here but the gyros slap like nobody’s business. And the baklava is pretty fire, too!

Drove by the Ingersoll location and thought a coney dog would hit the spot for lunch. Ordered at the drive through and felt like the wait was longer than it should have been, so my food wasn’t quite warm when I got home. But, it was still good, of course. I keep my receipts and check them against my statement every month. Good thing I do, because my credit statement reads .46 more than what my receipt was! If that is a credit card fee surcharge, there is no warning it’s coming. I know that’s not a lot, but when I already paid about $12 for a basket meal without a drink, I’m not paying one cent more. Ted’s Coney Island West appears to do the same thing, btw. Apparently, I’ll have to pay in cash at this place in the future.

If you want a good “Coney Dog” with chili and a dill pickle this is my — outside the state fair —favorite place to go. The onion rings are crispy along with tangy cold slaw that’s if you order the meal. Perhaps another one of my fan favorites is the large tenderloin on a bun that challenges some of our neighborhood favorite hot spots for good flavors. This is a good stop for good old fashion fun foods with reasonable prices.

Just had our first experience with Ted’s and I messed up my order but they were so nice and accommodating, they fixed it for me even though it was definitely my fault! Food was delicious, way more than we could finish! Great experience! We will definitely be back!

It’s not always easy to find a Chicago Dog in Des Moines. Fortunately for us, we only have to go so far as Ingersoll Avenue to get our Chicago Dog fix. Ted’s Coney Island makes the perfect Chicago Dog. I advise getting it with their first rate onion rings because they’re also delicious. This casual, family-owned fast food shop has a drive through for convenience, and I highly recommend coming here for taking care of your specialty Chicago Dog fix. They know what they’re doing at Ted’s Coney Island.
