️ Food Portion Changes
I have noticed a significant and concerning reduction in portion sizes, specifically with the rice and beans, which appear to have been cut by approximately half. This directly impacts the value proposition for customers and should be reviewed.
Restroom Maintenance and Cleanliness
The condition of the restroom during my visit was unacceptable.
Cleanliness: The restroom was visibly dirty.
Maintenance Issues: The right-hand sink was out of order and requires immediate repair.
Supply Shortage: Crucially, there was no toilet paper available.
Staff Follow-up and Procedure
I witnessed a staff member entering the restroom area, apparently to perform a check or log maintenance. They marked off an inspection sheet but failed to restock the missing supplies or address the cleanliness and maintenance issues (like the lack of toilet paper and the broken sink) at that time.
Recommendation: I urge management to address these issues immediately, focusing on consistent restroom cleanliness, prompt repair of fixtures, ensuring all necessary supplies are stocked, and reinforcing staff protocols for completing maintenance checks thoroughly.
It was like watching hospitality in Olympic form — efficient, friendly, and somehow still completely calm while running the whole show.
We both had the Chicken Monterrey and Pink Skies (highly recommend both ), and everything was delicious — but honestly, Sierra is what made the night. If you can snag a seat at her bar, do it. You won’t just get dinner… you’ll get an experience.
Give that woman a promotion and a cape.
Atomic salsa is always delivered upon request, a perfect accompaniment to any quesadilla or enchilada. It’s our family favourite for good reason.
Do not let them know it’s a birthday if the birthday boy is shy. Just saying.
For a family style restaurant in Norman, it has great Mexican.
They offer a wide selection of scrumptious made-from-scratch, authentic, Mexican food for decent prices and excellent service from wonderful friendly people. The red & green chili temperatures range from mild to hot. The food flavors awaken your taste buds and stir your apetite to an extreme state of euphoria. All of their meats are USDA prime cuts that get marinated overnight before being grilled to perfection.
The queso, salsa, pico de gallo, and homemade tortillas are to die for.
The yummy refried beans are creamy with just the right amount of cheddar cheese.
The spanish rice is cooked perfectly with just the right amount of spices and a light oil.
Our server was professional and very attentive to our every need with perfect timing.
Ted’s Café Escondido is always busy so you may have to wait for a few minutes but it is extremely well worth the short wait.
