If you’re up for a ride and craving BBQ, TB&J BBQ up in Clarksville, near Lake Burton off 197, is the place to go. This spot’s a little out of the way but so worth it, especially if you love riding the roads around here.
They’re closed for the season after Oct. 27th but will be back around Easter, so it’s one to keep in mind for next year. They’ve got it all: ribs, brisket, chicken, nachos, beans, slaw, and a super cheesy mac & cheese that hits the spot. Tyler and Jess, the owners, are welcoming and excited to serve up great food. There’s not a lot of room to order, but grab an outdoor table and kick back while your food’s on the way.
You might even meet the local dog (we’re calling her Bella) who loves a good belly rub and is around most of the time.
Whether you’re on your bike or driving through, TB&J BBQ is a top choice for great BBQ in the area.

Ch3f James review led us to this gem in the mountains. I don’t know what else can be said. This is one of the best barbecue joints I’ve been too and I’ve been to a lot. The ribs just fell apart right off the bone and the pulled pork nachos were devine. I’m a firm believer that great barbecue must have equally great sides. Oh my god do the have some wonderful sides. The smoked mac and cheese was amazing but let me tell you about those beans. I’m picky about my beans and usually don’t like the beans at most places. The beans were the perfect amount of smokey and sweet. I absolutely loved them with the ribs. Excellent pairing if I don’t say. Lastly I just want to say the owners are the sweetest people you will ever meet and the most humble. I was telling them how we stopped in because of the reviews. They weren’t cocky about there reviews and just said people are too nice. That’s when you know you found a gem. We’ll defiantly be telling others I know who visit this area to check them out.

The people here are exceptionally kind, and the food was outstandingly delicious! The food was opinionated in that they did not taste like generic BBQ nor cloyingly sweet, but food that’s cooked with a sensible specific point of view. Everything tasted fresh and nourishing like you’d have at a family and friends gathering. The spicy, mustard and vinegar sauces are made in-house too and quite nice.
Everything is served ready to-go, so you can easily eat there outside at the picnic tables protected by umbrellas (highly recommend eating there as it feels serene among the trees) or take away to eat elsewhere. We had the Brunswick stew, spicy BBQ wings, pulled pork, ribs, smoked mac and cheese, baked beans, potato salad, and banana pudding. Highly recommend visiting here if you’re in the area.

Ok. TB&J BBQ knows what the hell they’re doing. If you’re looking for some of the best smoked ribs, you can’t miss this joint. I mean, you literally can’t miss it anyways as it’s one of the only buildings around! Their ribs have bite, tender, fall-off-the-bone, smokey…dare I say, perfect? Yes. They are. Their smoked wings are straight fire too. These guys are smoke experts. Their beans have beautiful chunks of pork and taste fabulous. Their smoked Mac and cheese is divine. If you’re within 100 miles, just get in your car and get here. I promise you, it will NOT disappoint. Owner will constantly make sure you’re taken care of. This is THE JAM. And their sweet tea slaps.

Stopped here after a long drive in the middle of no where on happenstance. The owners self manned this authentic bbq stop. Just how I like it! Had ribs, Mac and cheese, beans, and chicken sandwich all well portioned. Value=excellent they are under charging relative to the HICKORY SMOKED PERFECTION. If this bbq was in a city it would cost 3 to 4x for the flavor and people would flood in. If you’re anywhere close, It’s local, real, Georgia bbq. Side note I live in Indiana and will likely not be back for ten years but they deserved the review. Also side note I too own a business and would hope if it was a bbq place I’d even be close.

Where to start but saying WOW!! my husband and I went for dinner today and the food was so tender and fell off the bone with just a fork! We both got the ribs and I got Mac n cheese and he got baked beans! And I have to mention I usually hate potato salad with a passion but theirs almost tasted like baked potato!!!
I cannot rave enough about their fast service and their great hospitality as it was our first time there and they explained the menu and also checked on us a couple times to make sure it was to our liking! Definitely will be coming back again ! Wish I took pictures before I ate some of it but here are just a few photos ☺️

I scouted many different restaurants, including other BBQ places, in the area and chose TB&J to feed 40 people for my son’s rehearsal dinner. They did not disappoint. The food was plentiful, fresh, and of course, delicious. The communication and customer service were top notch. Very friendly and helpful. Among the many comments and questions that night included: “this is the best pulled pork I’ve ever had”, “this cole slaw, OMG”, and my favorite “where did all the beans go?” Needles to say, you should check this place out of you’re anywhere near the area.
