As a crossroads between Europe, Asia, the Caucasus and North Africa, the Middle East has always been a hub of food and recipe exchange. During the Persian Empire the foundation was laid for modern Middle-Eastern food when rice, poultry and various fruits were incorporated into the local diets. Figs, dates and nuts were brought by merchants to conquered lands, and spices were brought back from the Orient. The Middle East were wheat was first cultivated. The area was also influenced by dumplings from Mongol invaders; turmeric, cumin, garlic and other spices from India; cloves, peppercorns and allspice from the Spice Islands; okra from Africa; and tomatoes from the New World, via the Moors of Spain. Religion has also influenced the cuisine….

We eat at all the Halal restaurants within 50 miles on this quiet side of CT. This is the best. Clean place, kitchen, service. Large tasty portions. Prices very reasonable, staff clean and friendly. Nice ancient Egyptian Theme. We try to eat there everything we go to Costco or Crescent Beach! Wife is beautiful but is very fussy, and SHE likes Taza Grill! We will book for our next event!

My favorite Middle Eastern restaurant around the Lyme area. The lamb shawarma wrap is my go to sandwich. I can’t forget the amazing baklava they have here too. It is one of the best baklavas I have ever had. Staff is friendly and service is fast.

I love this place!! I’m a soldier and drill in a nearby town. When I’m off work, I come straight to this place – the food is so delicious and the customer service is just as great!
If you’re on the fence, I highly recommend taking the leap and trying!! The chicken shawarma is delicious. If you’re a newbie, try something and ask for a chicken shawarma in a wrap (which I have pictured here), it will come with their hummus and a salad. You can even get a side of fries. But I substitute the salad for tabuli (which I also added a pic of). Tabuli is a green mix of fresh parsley and mint and tomatoes, and garlic with lemon juice – so fresh and so good!! I wish I had this restaurant in my backyard I would come with all my friends!! I bring all the servicemembers in with me also. And awesome employees. Thank you Mo for great service and a kind attitude everytime I come in!

Had an excellent lunch with my family. We were a big group of seven and the staff was super quick to move tables and booths to accommodate us. The food was DELICIOUS!! We had the chix shwarma platter, wraps, pitas. And the garlic paste is life changing!! The portions are HUGE!! Will definitely be back soon. Also super excited to try their new spot in Mystic!!

Taza Grill is so good! Everything was freshly made and absolutely delicious. We ordered the Falafel Platter, Falafel Pita, Falafel Wrap, Chicken Shawarma, and Baklava. The falafel was AMAZING—crispy on the outside, perfectly seasoned, and soft inside. The chicken shawarma was flavorful and tender, and the baklava was the perfect sweet finish.
On top of the great food, the service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Highly recommend if you’re craving authentic, fresh, and satisfying Middle Eastern dishes!

For my kids birthday party, I wanted some good food for the adults while feeding pizza to the monsters. These guys pulled through with some amazing platters. I couldn’t wait to eat the salad before I took the picture. Their salad dressing is addictive. The cauliflower usually comes with buffalo, but I prefer their tahini. The chicken schwarma platter is so big that we end up sharing it. They also have plenty of vegan options that are spectacular. They make the best falafel that I have ever tasted!

All I see in the reviews are rude people complaining about stuff the resturant has no control over.
Food came out fresh and hot and fast. Plenty of food. My husband and I loved it. Only taking one star off atmosphere for music, music was extra loud and had gun shots and such in it. A much more soothing middle eastern playlist would do wonders.
Was craving this food all day and it hit the spot for sure. Will be back! Thank you for making delicious food. Id love to travel to the middle east to explore but for now will come here!
