Really affordable and super quick! There is very few choices on the menu and that’s a good thing order your hotdog and go. The dogs are really tasty and so the chili spend less than five bucks for a meal can’t find that many places.

I have lived in Watsonville all my life. I have been eating Taylor Brothers Hot Dogs once or so a month for over 50 years. They are as good as ever!

Simple, old fashioned goodness. $1.95 for a plump dog dressed fine in a soft swooshy bun. Simple Meaty Chili with a vinegar bite, crunchy little onions, sweet relish overwhelmed but not silent. Yellow mustard.

Growing up in Watsonville, Taylor’s Hot Dogs was our go-to! My family would swing by a couple times a week, especially after games, and those hot dogs were always a hit. Went back in 2023 to visit my dad and brother, and again last year, but the chili’s totally different now. It’s got this mole sauce kind of taste, not the classic chili I remember. I thought it was just me in 2023, but same thing in 2024. Very disappointed and won’t be back.

I ordered a hot dog and behind me was a homeless man. The cashier that was there was telling him to leave. I asked the homeless man if he was hungry and he said yes. I told the gentleman that was making my hotdog if I can get a second one and he instantly said no, I asked why and he kept shaking his head. I said what’s wrong with me ordering a second hot dog for this homeless man? The cashier said because he always screams and makes a scene. I respectfully told him that’s no reason to refuse to make me a second hot dog, I can do whatever I want with it as long as I pay for it and he still said no. I gave him his hot dog back and said here I don’t want it anymore. Very rude!

I was a local resident and I grew up on eating Taylor chili dogs.
On every visit I make time to stop at this iconic establishment.
The taste of the chili dogs are memorable from when I was a kid.
Chili dogs come with mustard, onions, relish and of course chili.

Order etiquette:
“With or Without”.
Meaning with onions or w/o.

I highly recommend stopping by whenever you’re in the area.

Brought here against my will, the family forced me. im very picky about how my Hotdogs are cooked as the flavor can change very quickly. Surprised at the taste, actually wanted another one. I got a plain Hotdog with onions, and it was pretty good. Place is a little hole in the wall on the corner. My parents shared some teenage memories from this place back in the 70s/80s. Overall, I will go back if they offer. Maybe try it with Chilli.

We use to live in Watsonville so we have eaten Taylor dogs all our lives. We moved 24 years ago. Tonight we were in Watsonville and stopped to get some Taylor dogs unfortunately I have to say they were to salty and didn’t taste the same.

I’ve been coming to Taylor Brothers Hot Dogs for over 40 years, and it used to be a beloved spot for a classic chili dog. Sadly, my recent visit was a huge letdown. The chili, which was once the star of the show, now tastes like mole sauce—overly heavy, oddly sweet, and just gross compared to the perfect, savory recipe from decades ago. It completely overpowers the hot dog, which itself felt small and underwhelming in the bun. I was hoping for the nostalgic taste I remembered, but this was nothing like it. I’m not sure if I’ll be back unless they bring back the original chili recipe. Such a shame for a Watsonville institution.
