Sad to say but this place has been going down hill for a while. The food is very expensive and not high quality at all. This food on the menu has fancy names to make you think you are eating a great meal.
Any dish I have ordered here in the past couple months is of Applebees quality but for the price of something fancy.
This place could be so much better if they just offered high quality food for the prices they charge. If you are going to continue to charge these prices offer high quality food. Lower your prices if you are going to serve the food you serve now.
Don’t be fooled about this place being busy. It is only busy after an event at the opera house or when they have live music or a special event. Any other time this place is as dead as pleasant street and does not have a good report with the locals.
Some advice to the restaurant so they succeed is to go on DoorDash as soon as you can. Offer discounts to draw a customer base and make sure the food you are pumping out is good or you will get bad reviews on DoorDash. Have someone standing or hovering at the front desk at all times. Offer cheaper items that are basic food and the expensive items need to be actually high quality.
Also please salt your sidewalk outside your restaurant water leaks off the building roof and makes the sidewalk dangerous for a lot of folks. Older folks avoid going here in the winter due to this.
I hope to see change and success but until then I will not be returning to dine in here.

My partner and I went to The Tavern in Claremont last night, and we were so impressed. I’ve been there before it reopened, and the food was amazing back then, but it’s just as incredible now. Everything we ordered was delicious and cooked perfectly.
The atmosphere felt cozy and welcoming, and the staff were so kind and attentive. It was the perfect spot for dinner before heading to a Halloween party right across the street.
I’m so glad The Tavern is open again. It’s one of those local places that makes you feel right at home, and it’s clear they’ve kept the same great quality and warmth that people loved before. We’ll definitely be going back soon.

The food was pretty good only two weeks ago when we went but, likely due to poor management or bad ownership, this place seems to have taken quite a dive. The bar staff rarely knows the common cocktails or “they’re just helping out, I’m not a bartender”. It’s a shame this place has taken such a turn in a bad direction. Hopefully the owners can unscrew it or sell it to someone with skill before it joins the other empty business fronts in Claremont.

Very cold when you sit by the windows. We came to listen to music and enjoy dinner. The table we were seated at was by the window facing the Moody building. We could not see the musicians from where we sat. I made the reservation before noon. No one seemed to care when we said we couldn’t see the musicians. The table was very small and no room for your meal after your drinks came. Let’s hope the meal is good. Food was not good . Sorry wanted to like it but nothing was good about this visit.

We went there for a valentines dinner, were disappointed in the menu. It didn’t match the online menu, there were 2or3 blacked out items in addition to that there 4 or 5 things they were out of. Unfortunately they were things we were going to order. Keep in mind we had a 4oclock reservation so they had ample time to replenish at least some of the items. And if you’re going to permanently black something out on the menu why don’t you print new menu’s. It looks very cheesy. Was disappointed that the ahi tuna was no longer available. Our waitress was very nice and efficient although a mite timid, probably comes from having to tell customers that they’re out of so many items. I think it was the owners that were occupying a table near us,they were constantly calling members of the wait staff over and having whispered conversations. Didn’t seem like the time or place for employee pow wows. This place has been going steadily down hill.

Place is supposed to close at 9:00 on Saturday night, wife called ahead and ask if we came before 8:00. We showed up at 7:45 and was told the kitchen closed do to a storm that wasn’t going to start until Sunday night. And then it was because of the cold weather. Will never go again. I would not recommend this place to any to anybody. The place sucks.we went to the Common man and as always it was packed and the staff was pleased to serve us.
