First time here. Was looking forward to some shrimp mofongo. The mofongo was fine. Fast casual level of fine, which means below mediocre. Not great, not bad. Dry. Fine. But, the shrimp… it was laughably bad. Mini bait shrimp wayyyy overcooked and rubbery. About the size of my thumbnail, no exaggeration. I don’t think it was one ounce of protein from all of them combined. For $20, c’mon use normal size shrimp. Also got the beef filled plantain- also, fine not great. And WHY is a can of regular soda $2.50?!
Too bad, cute place for fast casual.

I ordered online with Uber eats. Pasteles was hard tasteless hardly no meat just more masa and no banana leaves. Rice smells bombao spoiled. The potatoes salad is all right NOT A WOW, but is ok. The only thing that was good it was chicken alajijo. It was so expensive I paid 54 dollars including fees. Will not order thier . First hand last order.

We have visited almost five times to support
Puerto Rican food and keep being disappointed. Here are some highlights from our last visits. If you choose to eat in the tables are dirty with food or sticky. You have to ask someone to clean. The garbage cans were full to the brim. If the front is dirty then…

If you eat in it takes a long time while you watch takeout orders prioritized and leaving while you wait. They don’t tell you there is a credit surcharge. If you just want an order of rice and beans they try and charge you as two separate sides instead of putting it together in one container. Even though a hit or miss the rice and red beans have olives in them for an authentic PR dish. This photo captures what is our last order EVER here ever which cost $17. Oh and no bathroom.

To start off this review, I accidentally ordered only about 20 minutes before they closed thinking I had more time they not only fulfilled the order on time. They were so kind about doing something so close to closing time. They were so quick and friendly. The service is impeccable in here. Now onto the food. The steak was so tender, moist and seasoned absolutely delicious. The pork was super tender and delicious. All the sides were fresh and large portions Highly recommend this place! The prices are great for the quality of food you’re receiving.

I ordered delivery from La Izla Restaurant in Mohegan Lake. My order included pernil chicken and two empanadas. Unfortunately, when the delivery arrived, the empanadas were missing.
I called the restaurant to let them know, and initially there was some difficulty locating my order. Once it was found, the person I spoke with was not very courteous, and there was no apology for the missing items. I was offered a refund, but I explained that I would have preferred to receive the empanadas instead. I was then told the restaurant was closing soon.
I asked to speak with a manager and was informed that the person I was speaking with was the manager. Overall, the interaction felt unprofessional and disappointing.
Based on this experience, I do not plan to order from this location again. I had better experiences with the previous La Izla in Jefferson Valley.I ordered delivery from La Izla Restaurant in Mohegan Lake. My order included pernil chicken and two empanadas. LOVE the new Izla! Loved the former location but this one is easier to get to and so cool on the inside. Plus a drive through! I know many people know about this place but if you’ve never been here, you’re missing out on some of the best food around. The ingredients are always fresh and the steak & chicken are always seasoned to perfection and juicy. Today, I tried one of the new bowls they have (friend chicken – it was incredible) but usually I have the skirt steak or arroz con pollo. My son had the falafel bowl and we both loved that one too. The sauces they have are spot on. I can’t say enough about ALL of the food and the service here. Thank you!!!

I’ve been ordering form here for years (starting at their old location) the rice chaufa and mofongo are amazing. There have been some inconsistencies (dry mofongo, tasteless chaufa) but it is almost always amazing. The plain mofongo with mojito sauce is my favorite. The sweet plantains and potato salad are my favorite sides.

This is my new favorite place! The food is fresh and delicious. I’ve been a couple times and it is always consistently good. I got the roast pork with Spanish rice and black beans, highly recommend! And they give you plenty of food, large portions.

We so looked forward to them opening in this new location. Went there for pasteles. Direly disappointed! First of all they were the size of a small child’s hand and totally tasteless. We’re never going back. The new location is also very tiny… the pasteles were the worse ever! Not sure it’s the same owner, however the mature lady is still working with new or former owner. So sad .
Would’ve been great to have great Puertorrican food!

Food was absolutely delicious and delivered within a decent time though I expected it sooner given that I don’t live that far. The cuban sandwich was really awesome though some parts were soggy because it was drenched in the green sauce (maybe recaito?) which was very greasy. The pernil with my mofongo was pretty good but the plantains were very hard and dry. My husband’s favorite thing was the yuca fries. All in all, I think we’ll give them another try.
