True, it’s a bar. And there’s food. But here they put a little more effort into it and offer a much wider variety than the average bar in Myrtle Beach.

Ate out here for the first time on Saturday January 24th 2026 with my parents. Tavern in the Forest is basically like a bar restaurant that also serves pizza and has Happy Hour items from 4-7 Every day of the week! When we parked, it was actually quite busy, and we walked into the restaurant, someone greeted us and told us there was a wait since there was a party going on in the front room. So we put our name on the waitlist and didn’t wait as long as anticipated. We were sat at a high top booth. This place has plenty of booths, and tables as well as high tops and 2 bars! Lots of TVs to watch your favorite sports team! For their menu, they have everything from appetizers like pretzels, nachos, fried green beans, potato skins, and philly eggrolls, to entrees like fish and chips, chicken and waffles, to sandwiches, salads, and burgers– and also pizza! Our server was Kelly. She brought us waters, and we all decided to try the Tavern Punch drink! This drink is also on their Happy Hour menu. The drink was made with grenadine and was very good! We all enjoyed it. We also ordered some appetizers such as the Fried Green Beans, and the Nachos half order. Food and drinks came out in the timely manner. We were given napkins and plates by our server. Appetizers were very good- Fried Green beans were excellent and didn’t taste greasy at all! Nachos came with lots of toppings including jalapenos which were all on top. Nacho half order also was a big portion! Chips were fresh and crispy. Kelly made sure that we were happy, and checked on us constantly. For entrees, I got the BBQ Burger M, and my dad also. My mom got a sandwich. Our entrees came with fries- my only feedback would be to ask if the customer wants fries with their meal, never know, may want sauted spinach instead! I was fine with fries though! Again entrees came out in a timely manner, and food was very delicious, and was cooked to temperature. We got a box for half my burger and my mom’s sandwich. Oh, and little mix up with the check, but both our waitress and us solved it. They do charge 3% for a credit card, but for the food i think it’s worth it! Paid via credit card and left a cash tip. Hope to be back soon to try their other food!

I’ve been eyeballing this place for quite sometime and it did not disappoint! The food is good the atmosphere is nice and it’s in a great area. Plenty of parking if options for those who have different dietary needs! Came here for a work event but it’s suitable for large groups and small parties!

We had an amazing experience. It’s hard to find menus in the area that go outside of the typical bar food box, but the items on the menu are super creative! We got the happy hour buffalo chicken dip that was amazing, as well as a salad and pizza! Immediately texted family telling them we had a new place to take them! I think our servers name was Kat and she was amazing too! The other servers in the restaurant would check on us every time they walked by as well, always a good thing to note. Overall an amazing experience

Went to dinner with my family we were a table of 8.
Sam was our server she was perfectly attentive and gracious with all of our requests.
The food was GREAT! We had burgers, Philly cheese steak, wraps and salad and pizza. They were all delicious and arriving hot!
Let’s not forget the Nachos and pretzel appetizers, I’m still thinking about! Can’t wait to return!!

Everything was delicious!! The pretzel was “light” and the beer cheese is some of the best I’ve had. My husband’s burger was cooked to perfection and the fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, which I personally think is the way all fries should be. My pizza, which I only are 2 slices of, was tasty. Crust was thin, crispy with just the right amount of chewiness & the sauce had great flavor.

If you want to come get good drinks at a decent price this is your place. Drinks are great, and the staff is great, but the food is just NOT it. I’ve given this place sooo many chances because I live next door and I really wanted this to be my spot. But every time I’ve tried to eat here I’ve left mad that I spent my money here when a meal from McDonalds would have satisfied me more. Honestly, the menu on the surface looks great. Everything on their menu sounds delicious. But the product that gets put in front of you doesn’t even begin to live up to that. my most recent experience there I ordered a Chicken Caprese Sandwhich And it had would look to be a single grilled chicken tender, cut in half and stuck on a sub roll with one tomato cut in half and a couple shreds of basil. It was honestly pitiful and couldn’t really believe that a kitchen staff prepared that and thought it was acceptable to serve to a paying customer. The only time I have left this place satisfied is when I only came there to drink. I believe this place would be good if I had a kitchen staff that cared.

The food was amazing!! I ordered the white pizza and it was so delicious. our server, Kat (I hope i spelled that right) was really nice and friendly and made us feel super welcome. The environment is definitely Tavern vibes, I love how it looks inside. Overall incredible experience!!

We all enjoyed our food (burgers, pizza, salad). Big selection of beers. Service was good. We were there when a football playoff game was televised and a lot of bar customers were there to watch it. I suspect this place is usually crowded on the weekends but it was packed the Saturday night we were there. Nothing spectacular about this place but the food and service were good. We’d definitely eat here again. I almost wish I lived in that area; I’d probably be a regular.

Tavern in The Forest located at 4999 Carolina Forest Blvd inside the Forrest Crossing shopping center is an awesome place to get a meal. Today, we tried their appetizer of Ahi Tuna served over shredded Zucchini it is excellent. For our meal we tried the pizza, Meat Lovers and it was the Bomb. This menu is packed with many great looking meals and that means we have to go back, and we will. The staff told us 2 important things. They have been here for 5 years and 85% of their customers are regulars, so they must be doing it right. Put this place on your list come by and try some great food. As far as the pizza makers, they retired from the NY area and wanted to stay busy so they work here. Very lucky that they provide a great tasting pizza. I will update this post as we go back and try new things. Please give my post a line as that proves my comments are seen .

Can’t say enough about the change. New Management? The experience tonight was noticeable and exceptional. The two hostesses at the door were very friendly and attentive. Our waitress was amazing. She made sure drinks were flowing and our dinner was delicious and hot. I thought to give this place one more try. We are so glad we did.
