This is an honest and open review. I’ve been here a few times and the most recent time we were seated relatively quickly. Sometimes thing seemed to take a while, like drinks for instance.
The food was good, or average. We had a pizza like the Mac and cheese pizza that was pretty good but the Mary Margherita was kind of flavorless and boring. I saw another review that mentioned Gordon Ramsey stating “add salt” and I agree here because things are kind of bland overall. The food was not inexpensive as the meat pizza was $18 for a 12 inch pizza.
I like the concept here as it is fun and could be a good vibe. But combined with the whole situation, it just seems to be missing a few key things. I noticed that the golf used to be free, now is $5 a person. Trying to find who we pay for that was way more difficult than it should have been. They ended up just adding it to our table.
After we ate and cashed out, we decided to stay and just enjoy a few drinks while kids played. The service here got difficult, because the bar wanted us to order through a server and this resulted in not getting checked in on or served. We ended up ordering and when we did that it took up to 15 minutes to get drinks. We actually went to Victor who was present and he did summons us our server.
I really want to love this place. We drive out of our way to go here. But with the average food and the things I mentioned it probably will continue to be just a once in a while destination.

Nice restaurant with great atmosphere. We stopped by to watch the football game on the big screen. Menu is extensive but highly recommend the pizza. We tried several ones and all were excellent. Servers are also great! Highly recommend!

A lot of times a Wood-Fired pizzas are kind of burnt but these were not. We got the margarita, the house special and the honey prosciutto and they were all delicious. I think the price is pretty good too. We didn’t do anything with games but they have a large game room and a miniature golf course. We were very happy with the pizzas. I can’t speak about the rest of the menu, but here’s the current menu in my pictures.

It was my first time here. I went specifically for the UI jazz ensemble performances—as did many other people—so service was a little slower than it probably usually is. The food was great and our server Keri was super nice.

Had such a great experience at Tavern Blue yesterday! I ordered the tacos and a Miami Vice drink (the strawberry + pineapple Malibu combo was so good and super refreshing). Everything came out quickly and tasted amazing.
Delaney was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and genuinely made the experience better. She checked in at just the right times and had such a positive, welcoming vibe. You can tell she really cares about making sure guests enjoy themselves. Definitely looking forward to coming back!

What a fun restaurant! The theme is fun and invites you right in. Our waitress was very nice and we also met the general manager. He is super polite and truly cares about his customers. Now the food….DELICIOUS!!! Three of the five of us had pasta, another kne had tacos, and the fifth person had pizza. You can’t go wrong with any of it. Highly recommend. We will be back next time we are in town cause I will be craving the tavern Mac and cheese!!

I really like this place and keep coming back for a lot of reasons: the lunch buffet, the weekend events, and the live music. The lunch buffet is a great deal—and the only one in town that I know of. I usually avoid buffets because I tend to overeat, but this one is good enough that I still come back.
The weekend events are easily some of the best in town. It’s one of the few places around where non-college adults can actually go out, have fun, and dance. There’s usually no cover charge, and while service can slow down when the place gets very crowded, it’s understandable given how packed it gets.
I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve tried so far—especially the pizzas, the burrata appetizer, hummus, coconut shrimp, and the seafood taco. They also host special cuisine events, which I really enjoy and always look forward to.
The atmosphere is fun and casual, with a tropical theme, lots of games, and live music. The space is huge, so it can feel open when it’s quieter, but once the music starts and the crowd comes in, it has great energy. Between the big bar, the new tiki bar, and the overall vibe, it’s a place I genuinely enjoy spending time in.
It’s an informal, down-to-earth spot that I recommend for anyone looking to relax, have fun, and enjoy good food and music. They even have a large event room, which I once used for a company Christmas party and it worked out very well.

I threw a surprise 40th birthday for my husband at Tavern Blue and it was wonderful! The manager, Victor, made planning easy and was very helpful and easy to work with. All the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and efficient. The food was delicious and we had a beautiful, buffet spread for our guests. Everyone was very impressed. We can’t wait to go back for their delicious pizza!

Tavern Blue has delicious food!! Definitely try out their all you can eat buffet at lunch so you can try lots of things. Their lasagna is amazing!! I love their relaxing atmosphere and fun decor. They have mini golf, pool, and other games to play. *** edit. Apparently, in the 2 weeks since I went here for the buffet, they quit serving it! Highly disappointing 🙁

Really enjoyed the new gaming area! Service was great as usual. Bartender was very personable and attentive. Two suggestions for the gaming area…..would love to see a nice air hockey table and a sand bottle for shuffle board. Air hockey is a game and we would come way more often.
