We are Tavern at Bown, located in beautiful Boise, Idaho. We pride ourselves on customer service & an exciting dining experience that cannot be matched in our city. The Tavern at Bown Crossing is a unique dining experience offering sushi, USDA prime grade steaks, daily seafood specials, burgers, sandwiches and salads. We offer a full bar with an extensive wine list, great classic cocktails, sake and draught beers. Happy Hour is available Mon.-Sat. Brunch is served on Sundays from an ala carte menu from 9:30-3 p.m. Our tables range from higher tables in the bar area with a more energetic atmosphere, or booths or a quieter area with lower tables. Had an amazing brunch!!! Great service and the food was amazing!!! The chicken biscuits and gravy with a touch of maple syrup -WOW!!! The French toast with assorted berries was superb. If you’re looking for a little lighter meal, my favorite is the blue cheese chicken salad. The balsamic vinaigrette is the best I’ve ever had!

Our experience today at TatBC was absolutely amazing, our Russian visitors were also very pleased with their dishes.
The host seated us promptly, our server was very knowledgeable, patient and very kind.(Our visit was on February 15th 2026 1:15pm)
I ordered steak and eggs and the chef cooked my steak a perfect rare and my eggs were a beautiful over easy my potatoes were beautifully roasted.
My brother-in-law and sister also raved about their Tavern Burger and the house made garlic aioli sauce.
Our desserts were beautifully presented and eaten lol.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

The food and drinks are underwhelming these days. Definitely a loss of care for quality and cleanliness at this Tavern location. The smell at the bar is unpleasant. We witnessed some very unsanitary behaviors by the servers at the kitchen service window while seated at the bar also.
It’s obvious that if you’re a regular, you are definitely getting treated better at the bar top area. This used to be a local favorite, but quality and service have completely gone downhill. I would avoid the bar seating during happy hour.

Oh heck yeah. This is the spot right here. This place knows how to make some great food. I came here with a few people. We ordered the nachos for the table as well as a calamari appetizer. Both were extremely good, but that calamari appetizer was just about the best thing I tasted here. Very well cooked and excellent flavor. I ordered a salmon roll and it was very good, I couldn’t help but share with the group. I also had an amazing burger (Tavern Burger?) that came with fries. Everything on the plate was delicious, I devoured it all.

I was seated and I ordered a monkey beam, monkey do when the waitress came back with the drink she ran by the lunch special and the soups so fast I couldn’t understand her and then she walked away. I waited for her when she came back and then I had to ask her again what it was, she had said cause I couldn’t understand her. She didn’t tell me about the soups. I ended up ordering the salmon chowder and the vegetable stirfry the food was excellent love the flavors. I had to wait about 20 minutes after I was done eating before the waitress came back and I was able to get my ticket.

The location of the restaurant is in an area we have not been. A very nice location and other places nearby too. Recommended to my daughter a month or so ago just on a whim and she really liked it. Since in town, we wanted to give it a try. Seated promptly and our server was right on with getting our drink order and then out order. Food came out quick and boy we were impressed. Every bite was full of flavor and only wanted to eat without stopping. The icing on the cake was that they had mud pie for dessert. Great mud pie and made right with Oreo crust. I could have eaten two of them as it was so good. Will be back when in town again . If you have not been here go as I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Stopped in tonight for happy hour. Our server was wonderful. The food however was sub par. We ordered two items. The pot roast nachos- they were dry, cheese was burnt on, the meat had no flavor. The steak bites looked like something Wendy’s would be selling, greasy and so awful. They seriously made me sick. I didn’t finish it and asked my server for a half Cesar salad.. which was lovely. We come here often and it’s progressively getting more disappointing.

Stopped in for a leisure Sunday lunch with a buddy while in town. We sat outside (our choice), and our server was very attentive, efficient, and had a wonderful sense of humor. She was successful in getting my fried chicken sandwich perfectly sauced with a homemade hot sauce. It was spicy and so very delicious with the pickle slices, red onion, and shredded Iceberg lettuce. Next time I’m in town, I’ll definitely stop in here and also check out their more fancy downtown location. Highly recommended!

went there on a Saturday evening without a reservation. Wasn’t a bad wait time of 30mins. Chose to sit outside to escape the inside noise. Lots of flies that the restaurant needs to address.
Service was prompt, drinks were good and the food was delicious. Calms sure were the highlight of the evening.
