this is a great place to eat with a such a nice atmosphere. Jason & his wife did a great job remodeling this building. It is very neat and clean & has beautiful pop ups of art. Paul the manger is very funny & friendly. Bartenders are very knowledgeable when it comes to the alcohols. Staff is always friendly, helpful , & polite. Great team work between everyone. Kitchen staff does an amazing job with the food , it’s the best of the best chefs in Ohio, and are very willing to accommodate you with personal wants or needs when they can. Something different for plain city and worth a trip to check it out!

Jason and his staff have done an incredible job making tavern 161 a Success! It’s a welcoming and friendly place to stop in and enjoy dinner and a drink any day of the week. My family and I have eaten here several times now and have had a great experience each and every time. I always see familiar faces and feel exactly the way plain city is known for. Small town with the warmth you can expect from your friends and neighbors. The rear area has a nice stage and I look forward to seeing live music!! I hear the line up coming soon is amazing. The prices are extremely fair and I highly recommend this place! 5- STAR

Service was fantastic, food options for the style of food was great, and the beer selection for a small town bar was on point. The food was very good, but there was just that little something that had me longing for more. We will definitely go back to try other things on the menu and like retry what we had to see if it was just a one off or if I can pinpoint what I missed the first time. The restaurant was very clean, the bathroom was clean, spacious, and easily accessible. The parking may be the only issue, but with the town block party going on, that could have been the issue. Looking forward to visiting again and trying more things.

I was in town visiting with my family for several days and had eaten breakfast lunch and dinner at different restaurants each day… on Saturday night, my brother suggested we go to Sweet Ts. I had the Tavern Burger with Cheesy Mac and my Dad had the Pulled Pork Sandwich with Cheesy Grits. We both shared our meals with each other. Both meals were absolutely delicious! Our party of 9 people all agreed that this was, by far, the best food we had eaten all week. The staff was friendly and the service was fast. I was definitely not disappointed. We will absolutely go back there the next time we are in town. A new tradition has been born!

So, we went Saturday evening to the Tavern for their soft opening! It is beautiful inside, it really shows all the hard work that went into it. Let’s talk about the menu! Everything I tried was amazing and is a taste I haven’t seen on any menu around, it really sets them apart from other bar menus. I had their BLT and it isn’t just your normal BLT, has a big fried green tomato on it with a Cajun kick and the homemade chips were on point! I also tried my Aunt’s shrimp gumbo and the flavor was outstanding! Can’t wait for the entertainment and to try more of their menu!!!

Dinner was most excellent. The atmosphere was great and friendly. Jason and the staff were very attentive, stopping by our table to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. Tavern 161 is one of, if not the best places in Plain City to grab a drink, watch the game, catch a live show, even have dinner with your whole family. Tons of seating at both (yes, two) bars, a great variety of small town favorite domestic beers as well as craft beers and cocktails created by the tavern. Sweet T’s truly steals the show with made from scratch, mostly local southern food that has something for everyone, from bourbon chicken to a wild veggie burger that rivals others in the city of Columbus. Friendly staff tops it off. Great addition to the city.

Just went last night to see Honey Compass band play. Blown away by this place. Not what you would expect for Plain city! Warm modern atmosphere with great food and service. Jake and Michael bartending were on point with a fun laid back approach. Huge beer selection and a plethora of fine whiskey to choose from. If you live in the area or are traveling by it’s the spot! Kid and family friendly as well. If we could give 6 stars we would!!!
