The food for some reason tasted gamey to me. I had the butter chicken and my friend ordered a masala, we also got an appetizer sampler which was pretty good except for the lamb.
I also ordered the Lassi Madness drink which was awesome, perfect blend of mix with coconut cream.
Our waitress seamed like she didn’t want to be there or like something serious happened to her and was not feeling her job that day.
There was another lady that was there that was very pleasant and checked in a couple times.
I’d go again and try something else to see if the flavors change for me and I will update this review.
TAVA Fresh Taste of India is a fantastic lunch spot! We ordered salmon tandoori, chicken makhani, lamb masala, garlic naan, and basmati rice — and everything was delicious.
The salmon was perfectly cooked, and the lamb was tender and flavorful. The highlight was the chicken makhani; its rich, creamy sauce was absolutely divine. The garlic naan was warm, soft, and full of flavor, perfect for scooping up the sauces.
The ambiance was relaxing and inviting, making it a great place to unwind during lunch. Service was excellent — attentive but not intrusive. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Indian cuisine!
The day before this visit, I came with three people, ordered one lunch bowl and naan, and shared it. There were two employees working and no one said anything about a no-sharing policy. We were never informed such a policy even existed.
The very next day, we returned with five people. There were three adults and two children. The three adults ordered two full bowls, and the two children were going to share one bowl, since ordering two separate bowls for them would have resulted in a lot of wasted food.
As soon as I mentioned this, a staff member became hostile and said sharing wasn’t allowed unless the children were under 10, which they are. yet she still insisted both children needed their own bowls. After more back and forth, she suddenly said the children sharing one bowl was “fine,” but continued arguing that there is a strict no-sharing policy for the adult bowls.
I explained that we had done the same thing the day before with no issue and were never informed of any policy. We were even buying an additional bowl compared to the day before. When I asked to speak to a manager, she wasted so much time and called them and then claimed the only reason we were allowed to share the previous day was because we ordered sides like samosas or chicken skewers, which is completely false!! We ordered only the bowl and naan. And, we still wanted to order naan during this visit.
Between the inconsistency, the rude attitude, and being lied about, we chose to leave. It honestly was really frustrating having to deal with that while taking your family out to a restaurant. The restaurant lost at least $50 in business over something that could have been handled politely and clearly from the start.
If you have a no-sharing policy, it needs to be clearly stated and consistently enforced, not selectively and not with hostility. This experience was frustrating and disappointing
