This is extremely disappointing. To save you time I vomit the meat back up. The steak was so fatty and gritty you can tell this is the cheapest steak they can buy for this sandwich. This is nothing like the authentic Taurus off 82 n Halsted. The sauce is milder not as sweet as the original. The steak sandwich have a different flavor as well compared to the original location. The veggies taste like they were sitting out all day tomatoes were so slimy! They had no Taffy Grapes or Banana Pudding so they substituted my order and gave me 3 dry as cakes! I’m so sorry to have supported a restaurant like this. If you still try this even after this review don’t say you wasn’t warned! Save your time n money and go to the authentic Taurus on 82 Halsted! I would never order this again! I would never order anything from here! Oh as far as portion size it’s normal for the Sweet Steak sandwich although the Sweet Fries could’ve been more plentiful than the small container they try to stuff them in! Also the sauce is different than the original location, it’s more like a mild sauce not like sweet sauce from original location.

To go restaurant, service was pretty fast. I got a regular hoagie and steak hoagie. The steak hoagie was good, but my meat on the regular hoagie was cut thick and just didn’t taste fresh. I was looking for the same old school taste from the 1 on Stony and it didn’t give me that flavor.

Found out Taurus Flavors was back open in a new location at 95th & Jeffery. They supposed to have buy 1 get one free on their steak sandwich and hoagie. What a waste of time AND MONEY! The steak sandwich was missing the meat! Where’s the beef? Not in here…overloaded with onions, sweet pickles
and everything but steak! The few pieces of what were supposed to be steak was actually a very low grade of “beef” which was mostly gristle and gross. So mad I got sucked in again! I refuse to keep giving money away to these restaurants that I wouldn’t give the food to my dog! Do yourself a favor and skip this place.

I had to leave a review because this place truly deserves it. This place is a GEM. I came in pretty late and expected rushed service, but it was the complete opposite. You don’t always get that kind of energy near closing time, but they treated me like it was the middle of the day. The 2 cooks that they have working here at this location were so kind, patient, and helpful. They were well-mannered and went out of their way to help with anything I needed. The seafood and sweet steaks were so good fresh, flavorful, and made with lots of love. But honestly, the service is what really stood out. It’s rare to find good food and service all in one. Overall, 10 out of 10. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this spot to other people!

Unfortunately, my daughter bought several… bags were not labeled to tell which sandwich was which… this was not cool… The steak sandwiches looked absolutely amazing! However, the sauce tasted watered, no true flavor, meat chewy and cold! SMH
The turkey hoagey… also just not so good. Everything was rushed!! Maybe it was an off day for them… I noted the other reviews were so positive.
These were nothing like the flavors and the sandwiches I remembered … so for me this place is a HARD pass. Sighing and mad… because I cannot eat it and feel like my daughter’s money was wasted.

Highly disappointed! I was expecting the REAL Taurus taste from Stony Island, NOPE NOT AT ALL!!! The steak sandwich smelled like old meat, not sweet at all! And the hoagie meat was like thinly sliced Black Forest Ham with extra peppercorn and herbs! The sweet fries were $5, and should’ve been $1! NOTHING like the Original Taurus! I wasted Time & $30. Should’ve just gone to that Hoagie Place on 87th Street East of Stony Island! Don’t waste your money!! The only way that this food will taste good, is if you’re drunk and coming from the club with the munchies! Even THEN you should just go to White Castles down the street!

After seeing the review on Black Goodies I went to try them out and soooooo disappointed! Do not waste your time. This does not taste like Taurus’s. The Hoagy DRY!!! The steak sandwich CHEWY!! Yeah imma stick with Chicago Hoagy House on Stoney or the Hoagy Palace on 81st and Halsted! You can go if you wanna but you will be disappointed.

My food was horrible and this location is not an authentic Taurus. My food had an after taste. My sandwich was saturated with oil which caused my sandwich to taste horrible!! I will not be back!
