We were in the area to have dinner and honestly were going to the neighboring restaurant and it seemed empty so we went to this Italian place without any plan. As soon as we sat down we were served bread which was so good that we ordered another one just to have it with their olive oil and cheese and it was absolutely delicious. As we came in the front desk person was very happy and gave us a smile which felt very genuine and got us a table quick. The place looks kinda vintage Italian and cozy with a charming slightly old world vibe. Our waiter who had started a week back was very polite and helpful. We started off with our drinks, an Old Fashioned and a Manhattan. The Old Fashioned was less sweet so we requested an update and they were quick to add sweetness to the drink. Based on the recommendation of our server we ordered the banana peppers stuffed with smoked mozzarella, Italian sausage, tomato sauce, and cheese topping. This was by far the best Italian appetizer we have had, it was very flavorful and spicy. Loved it. For our main course again the server suggested the lobster crab ravioli and the Bucatini Westmont. My wife loved the ravioli and I did like the Bucatini, just that I felt it was not cooked to my needs, but the flavor was excellent. We also ordered a side of the beef meatball and it was heaven, so so good. Based on all the food and the recommendation we decided to have dessert as well. Similar to the other foods we asked the server and he suggested we have the double chocolate cake which was dark chocolate. We were sold and it was again the best dessert we had, truly amazing. We will definitely come back.

I had an amazing dining experience. Every dish I ordered was full of flavor and beautifully prepared. The banana pepper appetizer had the perfect kick, the crab and lobster ravioli was rich and incredibly satisfying, and the canola cake was the sweetest ending to a wonderful meal. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully made. I will definitely be coming back for more.

I wouldn’t normally order a steak at an Italian restaurant, but when the waiter told me about the special Italian sauce and the select cut of ribeye, it sounded too good to pass up. His words? “You’re going to love it.” Well, I/we couldn’t have been more wrong.

The presentation was great! It looked perfect, but cutting into it is when I discovered that looks can be deceiving. This steak was loaded with gristle. Gristle that defied any attempt to remove or cut it. At first, I thought (hoped?) that it was just that section, and the rest would be as good as it looked. Nope. The entire steak was absolutely awful. It was SO bad, it is possibly the worst steak I’ve ever had. And at my age, that’s quite a statement.

The next disappointment came when I got the bill. The “special” came in at a whopping $88! I talked to the waiter, and he acknowledged that he saw how much was uneatable, but simply shrugged his shoulders and said he was sorry. It was like he knew I was being robbed, but that’s just the way it is at Taurasi.

If you’re foolish enough to go to Taurasi, at a minimum, do not order the steak, and be sure to ask the price of any special. At Taurasi, the “special” is for them, not you.

We had a wonderful meal for five on a Wednesday night. Beautiful wine list and a great assortment of homemade pastas. Kyle was an excellent server to help our group.

Taurasi is one of those places that feels real the second you walk in. Cozy, warm, lived in in all the right ways. I sat at the bar and the bartender treated me like I’d been coming here for years. Quick, friendly, effortless.

The lasagna was fantastic. Not the usual heavy brick you forget about. This one had soul. Layers built with care, flavors balanced, the fennel giving it this subtle lift. You could tell the chef and maybe the owner cooks like someone protecting a family recipe. Hearing that Italian accent floating in and out of the kitchen was all the proof I needed.

Simply put, it was one of the best lasagnas I’ve had in a long time. Honest food made by people who care. Highly recommend.

Very small restaurant so I would consider making a reservation…but both times I went I didn’t need one. Truly the most amazing food. All the pasta and desserts and more are made fresh in house daily. Staff is friendly. Clean restaurant. And the food is amazing! They also have a large wine menu and several drinks on their mocktail list which are superb as well! This place is a must try!

Taurasi is a charming Southern Italian gem in downtown Westmont.

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the owner. Our server, Owen, was knowledgeable, efficient, and welcoming, enhancing our dining experience.

We started with a Caesar salad, which was perfectly dressed in a savory, slightly lemony dressing. The fresh cheese added a wonderful richness. For our entrées, I had the Cacio e Pepe with meatballs, which was rich and absolutely delicious, while my husband enjoyed the lasagna, which had a delightful hint of spice. The homemade pasta in both dishes was outstanding.

Everything was incredibly flavorful, and we can’t wait to return!

The food was absolutely terrible. This is the second time I have eaten there in the last six months and the food is going downhill. The grill calamari was more like it was fried then grilled it was very dry. It was scrappy cuts the lettuce and whatever else they put on, it was terrible. The stuffed meatball was overcooked. It was half an inch into the meatball was fried dry hard. I would not recommend this restaurant it’s time they either change their cooks or change their recipes, but it’s going downhill for when they first opened.
