First of all parking is horrible. It’s best to park on the side where the other main parking lot is. There is more space and is right next door. We came in got a seat right away. Haven’t been there for a few years but heard of the new menu items. We got the fried calamari, and the new sizzling plate with some hot pots. I would skip the calamari as it tasted a bit bland. The sizzling plate on the other hand was amazing! The hot pots were also good but honestly was a lot of food for us lol. Hot pot came before the calamari appetizer which was weird to me. But all in all it was some good food

Top notch experience at Tasty Pot! The sizzling beef rice plate is a tad on the sweet size but the butter mix is incredible. Love the corn too for that little extra crunchy sweetness.

Deep fried calamari had a good amount of batter (meaning not too much) but could use some side cocktail sauce.

The seafood boiling pot was excellent. Fish, clams, mussels, mushrooms, vermicelli, cabbage, and even a small lobster tail sliced in two evenly sized pieces to share.

Milk tea with very nice soft boba.

I think if anything, they could increase their dish options. They had only two choices for appetizer and sizzling plates. but what they have is certainly good!

I came on Friday shortly after they opened for dinner around 5:10 PM and there weren’t that many people so it was pretty easy to find a table. If you come later on when there are more people, then they will help guide you to a table.
Seemed like the Sizzling plate was a new addition to their menu because there was only one option available that was customizable and I got the pepper option. It was pretty good because it had a nice BBQ smokey flavor to it.
Their boba was very interesting because it wasn’t soft like it usually is, but it wasn’t hard in a bad way.

~~Parking: It’s located in a shared plaza with a couple other shops, but there was still plenty of parking when we departed around 6:30 PM.
~~Service: Good. You place your order through the QR code and the meals come, though it can be a little hard to hail someone down if you’re looking to check up on your order or to get the check.
~~Pros: Food was very filling and it was nice that they had a lot of sauce options for you to choose from.
~~Cons: Would be nice if they provided extra bowls for sharing the plates (hot pot & sizzling plate).
~~Tip: If you like spicy, would definitely recommend the Sichuan Flavor Hot Soup.
~~Return: Definitely, it would be cool to see if they expand their sizzling plate menu to include more options.

I feel I will go crazy for this place moving forwards =D Although outside parking was so struggling, inside ambiance was so spacious and comfortable. We tried beef and Taiwanese as a first time here and beef was so great, no complaints, that was filled with so many different ingredients and they were all good. Actually, I recall the beef from the competition was just made of beef and some vegetables only and the other part was mainly filled with just broth but this place was so different. I want to order beef for next time too. However, Taiwanese was a little bit different. Not sure if it is just about my tastes but I felt some meats in it smelly Taiwanese comes with so different meats and majority will be for the miscellaneous parts. I won’t order this next time. =D

This was our first time eating at Tasty Pot and had a great experience. Will definitely come back!

When we got there (~5:45 PM on Tuesday), there was a decent amount of parking spots and a lot of seatings in the restaurant. Service was excellent. They were very nice, friendly, attentive and quick 🙂
Once being seated, we scanned the QR code on the table to place an order online.

We ordered:
– Fried calamari: crispy, good flavor, and perfectly done, not chewy at all.
– Thai flavor hot pot with an extra side of noodles: the hot pot itself already has thick noodles with it. Good flavor. A lot of seafood.
– Sweet garlic soy beef sizzling plate with extra beef, egg and cheese: pretty delicious. Make sure to mix it well so the flavor is evenly distributed. I thought the rice would be a bit crunchy like hot stone bimbimbap but I guess the plate is used to mainly keep it warm.
– Milk cream green tea: the boba and lychee toppings are good but the tea part is just okay. 1/2 sugar is not too sweet so that part is great.
– Tiger pearl milk: it’s also just okay. I ordered 1/2 sugar but it was really sweet (sweeter than the 1/2 sugar in the other milk tea)

This place feels cramped and rushed. I recommend getting it to go because the food comes quickly with barely any flavor. I was disappointed at first, along with their staffs keep coming by and checking up on us every 5 minutes. It felt like we were being rushed while sitting at a very small table. For the food, it tastes amazing after letting it sit and soak up the flavor for about 1 – 2 hours. Their parking lot is kinda small, though, so good luck to anyone!

The service was good and our hotpot came relatively quickly however, the actual food was very mediocre. I got the vegetarian hotpot with Thai soup and while it was delicious in the beginning, as you made your way down the bowl, the one-note flavor became increasingly obvious and honestly, I was bored by the time I finished it. The Thai soup was good but again, as you continued eating it just got too lemony.

The highlight of our meal was actually the boba! The Thai tea and the boba were so good and extremely affordable compared to the usual outrageous boba prices.

The actual restaurant was not well-cleaned and lacked any sort of ambiance. The floors were disgustingly wet and five minutes in, I almost slipped and fell on the way to my table. My friend had a boot on her foot due to an injury and found it difficult to walk around with liquids on the floor. The bathroom was just as nasty with 1 of the 2 stalls clogged and the ground somehow being even more soggy and slippery than the restaurant floor.

Overall, good food, incredible boba, and horrible vibes.

At Tasty Pot in San Jose, one doth find a most splendid lamb hot pot. The broth, rich and savory, doth perfectly complement the tender slices of lamb, creating a symphony of flavors that doth dance upon the palate. Fresh vegetables and noodles add delightful texture and taste, enhancing this culinary masterpiece. The service, both friendly and swift, makes the dining experience truly pleasurable. For those who delight in hot pot, this charming establishment doth come highly recommended!

Assorted hot pot medleys. Lots of good options to choose from, just be careful and pay attention to spiciness levels because it gets pretty up there. I got the Japanese Miso while my wife got the Beef soup. Both of us were very happy with our choices and we look forward to coming back for more when we’re in the area.
