Tasty Moment in Edison, NJ, truly delivered a fantastic Chinese dining experience. The food here is simply excellent, with a special shout-out to their soup dumplings. You can actually watch them being made by hand in the kitchen, which adds a wonderful touch and speaks to the freshness and quality. Every dish we tried was flavorful and authentic, making for a memorable meal.
The service was just as impressive as the food. Our server was attentive and efficient, and our water glasses were refilled almost instantly without us even having to ask. It’s the kind of service that really elevates the dining experience and makes you feel well taken care of.
The ambiance at Tasty Moment strikes a perfect balance. It’s lively enough to feel energetic and bustling, but never crosses the line into being uncomfortably loud. We were able to have easy conversations without shouting, enjoying the vibrant atmosphere that complements the delicious food. Given how popular this spot is, especially during weekends and peak hours, I highly recommend calling ahead for reservations and avoid a wait.

Waited for only 20mins during lunch rush hour on a Saturday which is not bad at all. The waitress was very kind and attentive. The food was solid. I’ve never had soup dumplings this delicious before. The crispy eggplant dish was also phenomenal. Ofc I can’t forget about the scallion noodle….everything was over the top mouth watering. I’d be here everyday if I lived closer!

Perfection and with the 45 minutes wait for a small table for 3 (that can fit 4). This restaurant surpass the “authentic” restaurant in Queens and Manhattan Chinatown. Highlight were the Pan-Fried Buns and the Soup Dumplings and Soup Wonton. For those that like spicy food, try the Mapo Tofu. I personally prefer the Beef Noodle Soup non-spicy. The staff was attentive but not overbearing, polite and was helpful in answering my questions. Parking lot and located in a Strip Mall. Expect a wait on the weekends but can easy spend time checking out the shops and Shopping for groceries at HMart. My favorite soup dumpling and pan-fried Buns, with the juiciest and most tender filling! Too bad I have to cross state lines to het them…

One of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve had on the east coast. Extremely fresh and flavorful dishes served family style with generous portions and upscale decor. Came at 9:00 and only waited about 10mins to be seated. Food came out extremely quick and service was attentive and friendly. Prices are UNBEATABLE – extremely good value for the quality and portions.

We ordered the scallion noodles, pepper beef with rice, mapo tofu, sweet and sour ribs, and pork XLB dumplings. Scallion noodles were savory and umami with a fragrant soy sauce. The mapo tofu was extremely flavorful with a hint of spice. The sweet and sour spareribs were INCREDIBLE – tangy, tender, and addicting. XLB were HUGE and extremely juicy. Pepper beef was good but not my favorite (too many onions and not the most appealing aesthetically). Each dish was under $18 and enough to eat for the next few days!!! Definitely recommend the XLB and spare ribs.

I can’t recommend this spot enough!!! Plenty of parking and lots of shopping and other activities in the neighborhood while you wait as well (it’s worth it though!).

Absolutely fantastic. The place is constantly packed but it’s always worth the wait. Best pork belly and noodles I’ve had. The dumplings are a perfect appetizer and the honey shrimp balls are a special delight.

What an adventure, this place had a line around the building before they were set to open. We got in and we’re promptly sat down. The whole event felt rushed. Waiter came to our table and spent only seconds with us before moving on to another table when he realized we weren’t ready to order. No options. No conversation. Efficient. The food took a substantial amount of time to come out. It felt authentic and the atmosphere was nice. Felt rushed and a bit out of place. Would recommend if your looking for authenticity and to explore new foods.

Food is oay though no comparison to real Shanghainese food you find in China. But please be aware of their all must be present before seated rule especially when there is a long waiting time. They enforce it with an iron grip even if you elderly and kids that walk slowly. Now the issue is when you need to wait 30-45 mins and it is 0 degree outside, you pretty much have no choice but to go somewhere else to pass the time and when they send the sms messages, you have 10 mins to be there all at once to be seated or you will have to get back to the waiting queue…I guess there is always a long line outside on weekends so they do not lack customers, but I still think there is something wrong when they give no consideration to kids and elders and only to maximize their profit and efficiency.

Very disappointed 🙁 The menu photos fooled us. They did not resemble the actual dishes, which sadly were very lacking in both flavor and method. We ordered many dishes but the only one we enjoyed was the soup dumplings. Displeased with the false advertisement in the photos. Perhaps they changed chefs/ownership?

Good food and reasonable rates. Very busy and be prepared for long wait in case you reach during peak times. Overall nice experience as we went early around 11:45 for lunch.
