The restaurant was plenty open with lots of seating available, which made everything feel relaxed and unrushed. The environment was very clean, well organized, and comfortable, which is something I always appreciate when dining out. It felt like a place you could enjoy a casual lunch or even take friends without feeling cramped or overwhelmed.
The food was tasty, fresh, and satisfying. Everything came out hot and well prepared, and the portions were generous for a lunch special. You really get more than what you expect for the price, which is rare these days. Flavors were solid across the board and definitely hit the spot.
Service was smooth and efficient, making the overall experience even more enjoyable. From start to finish, everything went well. If you’re looking for great value, good food, and a clean, comfortable atmosphere, I highly recommend Tasty K Pot. We will absolutely be back again soon and will gladly recommend it to others everywhere possible.
The food selection? Massive.
Fresh veggies, noodles, seafood (yes, whole crabs just living their best life on ice), marinated meats, non-marinated meats, dumplings, Chinese-style dishes, and a sauce bar so big you feel obligated to make at least three different concoctions like you’re in a cooking competition.
Cooking your own food at the table is half the fun.
It gives adults permission to play with their food again — poke it, flip it, boil it, grill it — and nobody can judge you because that’s literally the point. Plus, it keeps everyone busy, laughing, and not stiffly staring at each other waiting for the waiter to bring the next plate.
For about $30, you can eat until you either tap out or achieve enlightenment.
Honestly? Worth it.
If you like hot pot, Korean BBQ, or just want a fun dinner where you get to act like a responsible child with a stove, this place is 100% worth going.
The both was hearty, flavorful, and well seasoned without being salty. The hot bar had several mainstay choices and looked very fresh. BUT the best was all the raw items to put in the broth or on the grill. There was two coolers full of red meat, chicken, and pork items. Two more bars of veggies and starches. Then the last two bars were full of seafood, from fresh large scallops to prawns (and I don’t mean those little shrimp other places call prawns) to fish cakes. The server was friendly and explained everything very well while making us feel very welcomed. When our grill was a little dirty from all the usage, they even came over and exchanged it. At the end, we found a cooler in the back with little pastries and meringues, right next to a soft serve ice cream machine.
The restaurant was clean and spacious. I could see where it could get noisy if it was full but there were 2 large family groups and a smaller table along with us and it was still pretty quiet.
Overall, this is a great new place for the area and a fun different meal. You can be as healthy or as bad as you want with all the food choices.
Friday, 10/30/2025, we (party of two) arrived at 7:45 PM. The posted closing time said 9 PM, so we arrived an hour and fifteen minutes before the posted closing time.
We were promptly seated. The server turned on the exhaust fan above the table and the cooking surfaces, removed the cover from the cooking surface, and began explaining things to us. After she was done, I pointed out the visibly dirty cooking surface, which the server removed and replaced with a clean surface. She then took our drink order.
The buffet line of hot prepared items (which is physically quite large and with positions labeled as to what the item is… or should I say was) consisted nearly completely of now empty spaces, and a few pans where food had previously been. The only hot prepared items remaining were French fries, mozzarella sticks, shrimp fried rice (which actually contained chicken and no shrimp), fried dumplings, fried chicken wings, BBQ chicken wings, two types of steamed dumplings (both of which were empty), and one other steamed item, which I believe was a rice cake, but it was also empty. And that was it. Of the hot prepared items that were there, it was beyond obvious that literally everything in the now nearly empty pans was anything but fresh, with everything clearly looking like it had been sitting there for a while. If you’ve been to a buffet before, then you know what old food looks like sitting on a steam line. That’s exactly what it was; old dried food. The three items that I did take (fried dumpling, “shrimp” fried rice, and chicken wings) tasted exactly as it looked – old and dry. I asked one of the servers if the buffet was going to be replenished. She said she would check. It was never refreshed. During the entire time we were there, not once was anything on the hot buffet ever refilled or refreshed. In fact, by 8:15’ish, they were already starting to take down the buffet. Within ten minutes or so of them starting to take the buffet down, gone were all of the sauces, gone was the fried rice, gone was the mozzarella sticks, gone was the fried chicken, and gone was the soft serve ice cream. But did taking down what little there was on the buffet stop them from seating new customers who had just arrived? Nope.
In the two raw protein coolers along the back wall, there were different pans of thinly sliced raw meats, which consisted of a couple of different cuts of beef, chicken, pork, and lamb. In the one cooler, the meats were sauced, in the other they were plain. While the raw meats generally looked fine, the deal breaker for me was that the serving tongs, which everybody touches, were lying on top of the raw meats in each and every pan. Imagine someone picking whatever body parts and then using those tongs. Yeah. No thanks. I’ll pass on that. How this passes with the Department of Health is anybody’s guess.
Besides the three items I took from the hot buffet, and skipping the raw meats, I stuck with the items on the cold buffet (various vegetables, seafood, etc.) so I could at least do a hot pot. Having never done a hot pot before, so not having anything to compare it to, I won’t make a judgment on that other than to say that all things considered, $34.99 for a bowl of soup is absurd.
So yeah, from my experience with Tasty K-Pot, it’s A) a food poisoning outbreak just waiting to happen, and B) an absolute rip-off. Reading the 5-star reviews sure makes me wonder if they were at the same Tasty K-Pot that I was at, and if they were real customers that wrote them, or not the owner or staff because nothing that we saw there was 5-star.
But don’t take my word. Look at other reviews and you’ll see pretty much the same from several other people.
Another thing to know that I personally love was Coke zero was served in a can with a glass of ice! I love when restaurants do that! We will definitely be back in the future!
Our server was a younger girl with dark curly hair, she was absolutely amazing. Also, the young gentleman with blonde hair provide provided amazing service.
