Tasty Hawaiian in El Segundo offers delicious, well-seasoned, and flavorful dishes. We ordered the Loco Moco, Garlic Chicken and Chicken Katsu. The staff was pleasant and friendly, making the experience enjoyable. The decor and dining area are very nice, though it does get quite cold inside, so bring a sweater or jacket if you plan to dine in. They also have a wide variety of Ling Hing snacks, which is a nice bonus. Overall, a great spot with tasty food and a welcoming atmosphere.

It’s a cute spot located in a nice area, but…Let’s jump right into this review.
Tasty Hawaiian BBQ is in El Segundo off of Douglas Street. Multiple eateries and the Lakers practice facility/store shares space in this shopping center.
What did we have –
Chicken Katsu – breaded fillets paired with our signature Katsu sauce – $18.99 – 5/10
Chicken Teriyaki – Served with rice and macaroni salad -$20.99 – 6/10
Garlic Chicken- crispy chicken pieces coated in a savory garlic sauce, garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, served with rice and macaroni salad – $18.99 – 6/10
Great presentation of food in to-go containers. I appreciate that!
Pros
1. Great location.
2. Clean and beautiful decor.
3. Friendly staff.
4. Free parking.
Cons
1. It’s expensive and food is mediocre. Food lacked flavor (seasonings) in all three dishes.

Wow! This place is a hidden gem! I just drove by and happen to see it and thought I’d try it out because I love Hawaiian barbecue. However, lots of places the meat at the chicken and the beef are typically dry, but not here. The chicken is juicy and perfectly cooked. The beef is tender and soft. I love their teriyaki sauce and they have a spicy aïoli like a spicy mayo, that taste really great and I love their salad.
They have a huge portion out. This is a must try.

Some of the best Hawaiian food I’ve had in LA. Brandon held down the register and cooked with a smile. Service was fast and food quality was phenomenal.
10/10 highly recommend the teriyaki chicken.

Day 5 in America, needed some local food that’s wasn’t L&L (we have that at home…) this place hit the spot. Plus they didn’t look at me funny when I said shoyu and pog! Winnahs!

Food was awesome. They took care of me right around closing time. Good size portion and prepared fresh. They had limited options because of how close to closing it was, but still provided a great meal. Garlic chicken. I really enjoyed it.

I tried this place for lunch and it was horrible. The beef in the beef teriyaki had a sour taste and was definitely not fresh. The nori wrapper on the spam musubi was very fishy tasting and the spam was barely grilled resulting in a bite that tasted like fish flavored raw spam. Do your self a favor and skip this place.

The lack of options to customize your proteins was frustrating. Can’t get kalua pork or ribs with anything else without having to order too much food. Mac salad was just macaroni, no carrots or anything.
