Customer Service – 10/10
From the moment we walked in, the staff was welcoming, attentive, and professional. They made us feel comfortable, checked on us consistently, and ensured everything was perfect. Truly top-tier service.
Food Variety – 10/10
The menu offers a great selection of authentic Peruvian dishes. Whether you’re craving seafood, steak, or traditional comfort food, there’s something for everyone.
Leche de Tigre – 7/10
The portion size was generous and the flavor was excellent — fresh, bold, and nicely spicy. The only thing I would improve is the consistency. The leche de tigre (juice) was a little too thick. If it were slightly lighter, it would be perfect.
Pollo a la Brasa – 8/10
The chicken was flavorful, juicy, and very well seasoned. The taste was amazing. The only downside was the potatoes were a little dry, but overall still a very solid dish.
Tallarín Verde with Skirt Steak – 20/10
This was the star of the night! Absolutely delicious. The green sauce was creamy and full of flavor, and the skirt steak was cooked perfectly. Honestly one of the best dishes I’ve had in a while. So good!
Tacu Tacu – 8/10
Very tasty and well prepared. I would suggest adding a fried egg on top and maybe a little more beans to elevate it even more. Still a great dish overall.
Overall, Taste of Peru delivered a fantastic dining experience. Great food, great service, and authentic flavors. Definitely coming back!
Given the opportunity to eat at the restaurant once again, this time at the Gatorland location, I was eagerly looking towards a good culinary experience.
I was absolutely disappointed with the quality and taste of the meals.
Everything was super spicy even on dishes that normally do not come with hot peppers. The taste of the Anticuchos were odd so I only eat half of my plate. The Ceviche de Pescado was not authentic. The Ceviche Mixto was terrible, while it resembled a typical Ceviche Mixto, the flavor was absolutely not Peruvian, like I mentioned before, the taste was really bad.
We consumed different dishes, and all of them the flavor had a lot to be desired.
The only authentic items were the Chicha Morada and the Pisco Sour, both were good.
The waitress never offered us any “Canchita” even after I asked for it twice.
Our experience at this particular Taste of Perú Restaurant was an absolute failure. It would be akin of comparing a Taco Bell burrito to a Chipotle burrito and call it authentic TexMex food.
Before the haters start telling me that I don’t know what I am taking about, I can say this, I am a peruvian, and have been eating real Peruvian food for almost 65 years and have worked as a culinary tour food guide and food critic for many years in the past.
I will not be eating at this restaurant once again.
