I get the beef and broccoli here all the time, it’s my go to dish here. I love taking the beef sticks to go, along with the chicken sticks.

I’ve heard mixed reviews of the Taste Of Orient, so I can only speak of my experiences. The atmosphere is nice, comforting, and quiet, very much the classic American Chinese Restaurant atmosphere. They sometimes have a buffet, but I haven’t been there when they had it open. I have had amazing service every time I’ve been there, very kind and welcoming staff.
For this visit I had the Filipino Egg Rolls, Peking Duck, and hot tea. I love the Filipino Egg Rolls, they aren’t as heavy feeling as traditional Chinese Egg Rolls that most of us are used to, they are crispy and flavourful. The Peking Duck has a beautiful flavourful spiced sauce, and is tender and moist (there are bones so be aware of that when you bite into a piece). The vegetables help to bring a nice balance to the dish.
I have been told that the owners are Filipino, which is why you will find traditional Filipino dishes on the menu,as well as all of your favourite classic Chinese American comfort foods. If your looking for something other than American Food or Pizza while in Wiscasset check out Taste Of Orient.

Great food I recommend the egg foo yong combination plate. Phillapino based orient food. Sometimes they have lobsters two thumbs up with a crab rangoon side dish

Food was delicious, the crab rangoons were the best I’ve ever had. There’s so much of it too, we definetly couldn’t eat it all. Took a star off because the floor below blasts music so loud we could feel the seats and vibrating the whole time and it was tiring on the ears after a while.

I heard mixed reviews about the Taste of Orient and I’m not sure why. This place was absolutely amazing.
When we first walked in, we were met by a very friendly and sweet waiter who went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. If she didn’t know the answer to a question about the food, she happily went and found the answer. She often checked in to make sure we were doing good and was very attentive.
The food was superbe too. Whether the sauce was sweet and sour or duck sauce, it was very flavorful and you could taste subtle notes of pineapple, apples, etc. The tofu was also some of the best I’ve had at a restaurant; it was crispy and well made.
All in all, would recommend visiting here.
